Remembers settings. Uneven heating. Confusing installation instructions.
I’ve been looking forward to getting one of these to replace a bucket style towel warmer I have. Mainly because it would mount on a wall instead of taking up floor space. The item comes well packed for shipping and all the parts were there. I was installing this using a wall plug rather than hard-wiring it. The power cord has a GFCI in-line for safety. It is not the wall-plug style shown in some of the product photos. The installation instructions are confusing and the pictures identifying the parts have mostly nonsensical names. It comes down to three basic steps:1. Install the hollow rectangular blocks on the upright round pole. One of these already has the power cord running through it so you just have to pull it tight against the pole. One screw in each.2. Attach the wall mounts to the wall. One wood screw in each. It’s a good sized screw and best if you can mount them to a stud. Otherwise use the included plaster anchors. Hole spacing is 23.5 inches. Measure twice and drill once because there is not a lot of wiggle room.3. Slide the hollow rectangular blocks attached to the pole over the wall mounts. The hollow blocks have a small hole three sides. Use the small self-tapping screws to attach the hollow blocks to the wall mounts. Best to use a powered screwdriver for this. That’s it. Then plug it in.As to performance, first thing to know is that the unit remembers the last settings, both temperature and timer. That’s good because a lot of electronic devices don’t.Heating is uneven. The default is 130°F. Using an infrared thermometer, the base of each arm gets to this set temperature pretty quickly. The ends of the arms on the other hand get up to 150°F. When I set it to 140°F, the arm ends got up to 180°F.I found that just hanging the towel over the rack didn’t work all that well for warming up the towel. What worked better was hanging the towel over the top four arms, then using the bottom arm to push the towel against the other arms. Even with this though, it didn’t heat the towel as thoroughly as the bucket warmer did.The top shelf is metal, held on with two screws. It is also quite heavy. It would have been better to use a shelf made of carbon fiber or heat resistant plastic. It would have made the unit several pounds lighter too. I’m not sure about the utility of the shelf so I may just take it off.In sum, while I like the floor space this wall mount warming towel rack saves, it doesn’t work as well as the bucket towel warmer. If I had to choose, I would choose the bucket style.

Poor Hinges
The product looks sturdy and attractive. But I couldnât install the hinges properly because one of them was pre attached with the electric cable clamped at the wrong place. In addition, the hinges are plastic and donât look sturdy enough to hold for long term use. We have no choice but to return it.

Really dreadful instructions
The instructions are perhaps the worst that i have ever had for anything I have purchased. Depending on where you mount it may be next to impossible to access the screws which hold the rack on to its mounts. The top shelf should have been from a lighter material and the controls should be programmable. Other than that it does seem to work.

It’s a Great Concept But With Flaws in Execution
Having each arm swing around 180 degrees is very clever. It allows for two towels to be heated at the same time without crowding or overlapping.I also like that this functions as a traditional towel rack so I can just hang up my wet towel and walk away. I tried the Keenray Upgraded Towel Warmer Bucket, but you cannot use with wet towels (as if you would never have a wet towel in a bathroom). That is the problem with the container-style warmers so this design is much better.BUT:There are only 5 arms for warming towels. With 2 towels, the simple math is one gets 2 arms and one gets 3. The result is that the towels have warm and cool spots, even after leaving them on the warmer for hours. Also, the top temperature is only 155 degrees. That may seem high, but the bucket style warmer goes to 210 and is much, much nicer.Lastly, it has a built in timer so it turns off automatically after a 1-9 hours (selected by the user). That’s nice. But it should turn back on at the same time the next day. Even my super-inexpensive Christmas candles do that. So it’s not hard. And it would be really nice to stagger into the bathroom in the morning and already have a warm towel waiting.
