I have a bunch of colognes that were gifted to me. Most much more expensive, but I got several compliments on the smell of this Stetson Black in a very short time. It is a deep manly smell, not the clean businessman smell. idk what I am talking about, but think more cowboy and less Excel.

Natural wood, with a sweet and fresh finish. It gives off like a sweet wood and cucumber finish. Doesnât last long. It statement it makes for a man to a woman: âCome away with me to a log cabin getaway.â Itâs a bold scent, but longevity is so-so. I feel you might have to keep it with you to refresh you were wearing for a whole day. Might last you for a date night though.

I found this lively and sweet. Read the official description and I’ll break it down.”Woody, dark and evocative, for rugged allure. Thereâs something about a black hat: mysterious, unpredictable, provocative. Entering on notes of dark sandalwood, the scent makes a bold pepper play, then relaxes into a rich leathery warmth.”The top notes were lively, sweet, and floral. Maybe a bit fruity. Having spent considerable time across Japan and Korea, I understand the aroma of sandalwood. This cologne does not come close to the sandalwood scents of cologne oils or perfume oils. Top notes last a few minutes. It wasn’t what I was expecting. The fruity and floral fragrances were quite nice but not very manly.The heart notes got a bit better once it settles down. It was a little less lively and sweet. The heart notes and floral and evaporate over a half-hour or so. I think I detected some vanilla as the fruity top notes faded. I couldn’t find any pepper at all. I have no idea how the official description correlates with the actual smell.By the time a half-hour elapses, it is settling down into the base notes. It is musky with a bit of floral fragrance. I couldn’t find any leather. A few hours later, I have to shove my nose down my shirt to remember I applied it.In summary, the advertisement uses the words “dark”, “dark sandalwood”, black hat”. Instead, I found it “lively”, “fruity”, “floral”. Quite the opposite, although it settles down into a musky scent but still keeping some floral character.

Clean, bold, fresh smell with hints of wood and sweetness
Itâs definitely a masculine scent but not overly cocky or assertive. Smells woody and fresh, with some sweet nuances that mellow out the overall vibe. Itâs a rugged western scent with a sophisticated spine. Does not last long â maybe 1-2 hrs at most. It does not project farther than a couple of feet. Excellent value for the money, and a safe blind buy!
