Perfect moisturizer for people who need oil control
I have sensitive skin, and this is perfect for my sensitive skin. It never breaks me out. Great value for your money you donât have to spend $100 on something that works. This works amazing. I love Cerave. It is very lightweight. It is not greasy. It is a gel cream, which makes it very easy to apply it last all day long keeping your skin moisturized and oil free. It works well under make up some moisturizers will make your make make up look funny or peel. But not this you put it on let it dry put your make up on and you would never know that you even had a moisturizer underneath, and in fact, I believe this moisturizer helps fill in my pores and my wrinkles and makes my make up look even better than it did without the moisturizer. If you have sensitive skin control, this is the product for you.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Believe the great reviews, it really is that good. At 42 I’d always thought by now my skin would FINALLY stop being oily, but nope, genetics determined it’s for life apparently. I’m just as crazy oily at this age as ever. *sigh*Obviously, as we get older though, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles become more of a priority, so I don’t love using extremely drying or harsh products for the oil issue either.Normally I always carry with me oil blotting papers (which I highly recommend). I use those within 2 hours of doing my makeup and that’s even when I’ve already used an oil absorbing primer, etc. Then I continue to have to use blotting papers to touch up throughout the day, every couple of hours or so. I’m THAT freaking oily. It’s such a pain and a little embarrassing to get shiny so fast around others, as I’m sure many reading this can relate to, no doubt.Suffice it to say that I’ve tried tons, and I mean TONS, of oil absorbing products over the years. While some work a bit better than others (by the way, if you’re looking for a matte primer that does indeed control oil longer, I’d suggest trying Rimmel’s Stay Matte in the purple and white tube), but none of the primers or moisturizers or treatment creams I’ve tried ever really worked wonders for how quickly my face produces oil. So I’d basically given up on the hope that any product was going to really knock it out of the park for my particular needs.Enter CeraVe oil control moisturizer.I’m shocked. Totally shocked. The first time I put it on, I made sure my face was super clean and I applied nothing else but this product. I checked the time so I could gauge how long the matte effect lasted.For starters, this moisturizer feels amazing! Smooth and hydrating, your skin drinks it in immediately, and you’re left with an instant matte yet moisturized and baby-smooth feel that leaves you wanting to touch your face just to enjoy it. You don’t have to wait forever for it to dry and it plays beautifully under makeup without pilling.But the real shock occurred when I touched my face a little over two hours after application. AND IT WASSTILL DRY. No oil. My jaw dropped.No other products I’ve tried have done this for me.Needless to say, I’m going to be stockpiling this stuff!!!! It’s so perfect in nearly every way. I freaking love it. I knew CeraVe was a good brand, but wow, they nailed it with this one!

Actually reduces oil!
I have combination skin, super oily T zone, but dry cheeks. I have absolutely no idea how this stuff works but it keeps the oil to a minimum during the day which I feel like has helped reduce breakouts. Itâs super lightweight, not heavy at all, but still does a nice job moisturizing. On dry days I might go with a double application though. I still use a different lotion on my cheeks to give them enough moisture. The pump bottle it great, it traveled well without any spill or leak.

Effective but doesnât absorb well
Itâs good for oily skin, although if you apply in the morning my face gets oily again after 5pm. So I have to redo the process of washing my face and reapplying it. It leaves a white residue when youâre applying which is hard to go away. No pilling.

Moisturizing over 40
I admit I have very sensitive combination skin. If I use anything with perfumes, parabens, and whatever else they put in beauty products nowadays I break out and my skin is on fire for days. I have been purchasing Farmhouse Fresh products as well as Clinique, and they work great. But at $30 to $40 a bottle and my commitment to moisturizing in my 40s has made it difficult to continue to buy these more expensive products. I’ve always had a good experience with this Cerave when it comes to body moisturizers and have used the face cleanser which works great. I went ahead and purchased this moisturizer to see if I could replace my more expensive products. I’ve been using it for about a month now and I have had no breakouts, no crazy rash, and my skin has remained as oil-free as Clinique or Farmhouse Fresh. My skin also stays hydrated all day which is very important as we get older, and it dries fairly quickly on the skin without any residue. Even if you’re not on a budget I would definitely consider purchasing this moisturizer as a great alternative to more expensive products. It does the same thing it’s a lot cheaper.

My face is way less oily now!
I get a very oily face after washing it. This seems to really help. My skin feels softer and much less oily for most of the day. Towards the end of the day it does start to get oily but nothing like it used to. It doesnât take much to cover your face well with it, so donât use a lot.

WONDERFUL
LOVE this product. The gel-cream texture is really soothing, makes skin feel very moisturized and firm without feeling greasy. Literally gives me baby skin. I have sensitive/oily/acne prone skin, 40+, and this is great for fighting excess oil/acne while firming “mature” skin. Have seen a great improvement in the texture of my face and fine lines seem less visible. Highly recommend.

Not great for mixed skin
It’s just a little too light for my forehead area (where the skin is oily) and not moisturizing enough for the rest of my face (where the skin is dry). I guess my face just needed a lotion with a little better balance, so I found a different product and won’t be buying this one again. I did however keep the bottle to fill with a different lotion cause it’s cute and compact!
