Superb appearance/feel/presentation And Fragrance!
I could smell this almost upon opening it , or I should say I caught the escaping top notes of * juicy/zesty/fruity * and when I opened the jar, I thought oh okay, yeah that’s it! (The candle’s description) I was impressed! It’s very balanced, fresh and laid back, grassy, uplifting slightly fruity and clean without being over the top on any of those notions (no strong laundry detergent note, or anything loud and/or irritating or reading as cheap typical fragrance along those lines that I personally am sensitive too… or if it were, it’s just blended so well it harmonizing cancels out the potential discordance completely? It’s just got it’s own distinct character, and that’s what I most love in a blending)The description had me curious about this tennis ball.. would it be a strong maybe rubbery note atop? I’ve smelled hundreds & hundreds of perfumes and I’m satisfied enough to not try and pinpoint what they’ve done here but it’s definitely hearkening to that and grass stains and summer and it’s just got it going on & very nicely done.Anyone who’s experienced in fragrance/perfume.. It could have a little in common with gap grass, it is not the same, but theres some vibes and obviously similar notes there that can def take me back to those 90’s days a bit! It’s as nicely crafted in quality (So much so that I just ordered another one of their candles! Because I am picky so when I find something I dig I just have to check out more! So curious!!)The heavy jar is gorgeously vibrant, feels like a neon painted ceramic, a very nice quality gold embossed label/seal on the front ~ And though it matches flawlessly the lid is not ceramic but a very hard thick paperboard with silicone inner seal I believe, this way they could deboss the top in gold font with the name and notes of the candle 😉 (because they know what looks good) The fold-out top box packaging is also beautifully considered design through and through. (Nice weight, crisp saturated color, graphics, verbage, embossed/ puffy metallic gold font~ all very pro and appreciated by moi =] )Attention to detail here on all counts & I’m so glad I ordered this and so excited to smell more from the brand as all the candles are super cute with notes that interest me.. So far, from this candle, they know what they are doing =)

Unique Fragrance/Packaging
I’m a bit of a candle fanatic and sometimes it feels like I’ve tried them all. I come across the same roster of notes (lavender, vanilla, rose, leather, tobacco, etc.) over and over again. But Otherland brand has definitely restored my faith that there are unique products still to be discovered.I got two different fragrances from them – Matchpoint and Rattan.I love love love everything about their Matchpoint candle. The fragrance is described as a mix of tennis ball, cut grass and cucumber. And I definitely get all that. It’s very fresh and punchy. There’s also a hint of something floral which mitigates the “green” notes. Whatever it is, it’s very appealing.Rattan is described as having notes of sandalwood, golden amber and warm musk. While I like the fragrance, it’s much brighter and more “summery” than those notes would suggest. The amber does lend the tell-tale powdery scent, but I’m not getting too much musk and nothing resembling sandalwood. But it’s very nice all the same.The packaging is also very original and eye-catching. The color block style of the box with the gold raised lettering of the logo is completely giftable. The jar is an opaque matte (orange for Matchpoint, white for Rattan) with a label that peels off easily (if you prefer the plain jar). The burn time is decent and the potency and throw are both comparable to luxury brands. I look forward to exploring more from this brand.
