Fun, colorful and creative journal- with daily entries that are quick but meaningful.
I was very excited and a little curious to see my new journal and as I sat and opened the cover, I knew it was going to be a lot of fun, doing the short journal entries inside. I love the introduction that the creator of the journal, Dr. Therese Mascardo- who wants to help people create a life that “they don’t need a vacation from.” I loved that idea, and it is something I am direly in need of- as I have no money to take a vacation right now- and no time. And how can you not love a product (the journal) created by a person who is on a quest to find the world’s best breakfast burrito (the doctor)? You also learn that “the prompts act as a framework for navigating through the ups and downs, twists and turns, and delightful detours of your path.” Each day, I take one of the prompts and answer it, moving through the seven, one on each day of the week. After that, the journal gives you one page of open space, “room to dream, draw, or doodle” and then an entire blank space, a “place to dream.”Almost all the journals are entry pages with the same six questions (which may prompt several answers) which are different from the prompts on the two pages before the journal pages. They are the same each day, thus always one page long and there is a place for the date. The paper used for the journal pages is of high-quality, thick sheets. Each time I open the journal to the bright colors and the happy designs it helps me to look forward to a new day and motivates me to think about the things I want for my life, want for myself and others, the way I want to act and be treated, and really, most of all, it makes me think about self-care- which is something I desperately need at this time.A great gift for anyone, however, I would have liked to have a journal like this in my teens or early twenties (during my college years). It would be great to give to a loved one and sit down and talk about the importance of taking care of oneself and to always keep dreaming- no matter where you are in life and what is happening. That makes it especially good for someone who has just gone through a major life change and is looking to open a new door or chapter in their life. And since New Year’s is coming up- making the resolution to have a year in which you think of yourself and make it a priority- with this journal as your helpmate and guide (or at least part of your program). So this is a good journal for just about anyone!!Please check out my photos to see what the journal is like. Forgive me that they are not the best, my phone died and I had to turn on an older one, that doesn’t work as well (in all areas, not just photos). I hope I have helped aid you in your decision and I sincerely hope that you are considering this journal for yourself or someone you care about or love- I don’t think you will regret it. I certainly don’t and hope to see another collaboration for ban.do and Dr. Therese Mascardo- as I am now a fan!!A note to readers: Anything in “quotation marks” is a direct quote taken from a page of the journal and not my original words. Again, thanks. And I photographed the journal next to one of the larger paperbacks I am reading- so you could readers could gauge the size of it for themselves.

The journal is beautiful!
Iâve journaled for years through free writing and every once in a while Iâll engage with journals with prompts. This journal is beautiful. I think the colors add some energy to it; it helps you to lean into your ideal life. That life that you donât need a vacation from. The prompts of the journal is very simple yet impactful. They help you to focus on the experience of life. And be intentional about what youâre looking to create.I appreciate that the first prompt is a big picture followed by an area to help you break it into smaller taskâ which helps me have clarity as I move along!I am using this journal to help me keep track of my daily efforts towards my bigger plans.Sometimes itâs not our goals thatâs the issues but our systems, and this journal helping me keep track, and be mindful to check in â supports me in being able to see when my system or process may not be working.I think this journal is great at keeping track for yourself . Taking it a day at a time and being mindful of those impacts due to its set up.The set up of the book and the colors â all work for me. The cover was a bit beat up when I received it which is a bit of a bummer. However, Iâm still impressed and enjoying this journal.Listen; Iâm very much into this! I do wish there were more doodle pages !

Good Journal with Daily Prompts for Goals and Tracking Progress
I like that it has a hardback cover to help prevent damage to the pages. The daily prompts are the same each day, one page per day. I can write daily goals, self care, what I’ve achieved previously and more. There are some blank lined pages for writing whatever you want and blank pages for drawing or doodling. There isn’t a lot of the blank pages, I wish it had more of those.I like having the same questions each day. It helps me to focus on and keep track of what I want or need to do. It also helps me to see what I have achieved and what I still need to work on. I showed the journal to my adult daughter who has ADHD to see if she might like to get it too and she did not care for the repetitive questions. It has a place to fill in the date at the top of the page. If you skip a day or want to fill it out less often, you can just fill in the date as you choose to do it.It has a ribbon to save the page your on, which is nice to not have to flip through the book looking for where you left off at.The book is well made. I like the retro look, it’s colorful. It’s great journal for anyone who likes this style of prompt journaling.

Cute journal but doesn’t seem ADHD-friendly
I was really excited to try this guided journal, but I was disappointed that, while the design is really attractive, there isn’t much substance on the inside. The daily pages are all the same. There are a couple of blank pages at the beginning and end labeled “space to dream,” but I think offering more pages scattered throughout the journal would have been more helpful. I’ve looked at similar journals and planners that offer areas to set intentions weekly or monthly, or that have variations in prompts, and I think something like that would have been more helpful for me.This might be great for someone who thrives on having just a little bit of structure, but for someone like me with ADHD, it gets really easy to just tune out if every day looks exactly the same. I really benefit from having sections to work on longer-term planning or reflection. I was also disappointed that the graphic design was lovely, but the graphic elements only appeared at the very beginning and end of the journal – I would have liked to have more of the fun, bright colors and retro vibe throughout the entire journal. This is a really well-made book and I feel bad that I can’t give it a better review. I think this might be perfect for someone else! Hopefully this review will help you decide if this is a good fit for you.
