good solid notebook
Cover is solid, easy to hold in one hand and write with the other in a situation where no table or surface is available. Paper is nice cream/ivory shade, slightly textured. Works well with both gel pens and my TWSBI broad nib fountain pen. Paper is thick enough that you could write on both sides if you wanted; you can faintly see that there is ink on the other side, but it wouldn’t interfere with your ability to read.

Exactly what I needed. I love the elastic band and the page ribbon. The bulleted pages are great for customizing all the different daily activities I like to track. So far my gel pens only bleed through a very tiny bit if I leave too much ink in one place, but that doesn’t happen often. These are great durable little books.

I love those thin kraft paper notebooks, but for an upcoming vacation I wanted a journal with a sturdier hardcover. At 2 for $13 I thought these would be just okay, but I’m really impressed by the quality. They’re bigger and sturdier than I expected, and well constructed. The paper is a good thickness and the dotted grid is printed correctly. I should be able to paint or decoupage the cover without warping it. This is just what I wanted for my trip, and I’ve got a 2nd one to spare. Cool beans.

Great book, but dots too dark
Nice book, well made, heavy paper pages. No perforated pages in the back, or unwanted promises about rewards in the front. No pocket, but I don’t find those pockets very useful. No page numbers, but, again, I don’t need them.The problem is the dots in the dot grid – too large, too dark. Manufacturer – please make them smaller, and a lighter shade of gray. If you can just barely make them about a meter away you’ve got them about right.So I returned these and then noticed they have books in 7.5 x 10, which is a better size for me, and I ordered those with blank pages.I don’t know if the paper is acid free or not. If not, that’s a mark against for long term use. So, minus a start for lack of acid free, and a star for dark dots. Assuming the book is as durable as it seems, and you fix the other two issues, I’d give it 5 stars.

Bent corners
I love these journals to paint on and give as gifts. I have bought before and they were great. Bought 3 sets this time. 5 out of the 6 were bent on the corners. They could be packed better. Theyâre not terrible but I still donât want to give them as gifts.

This journal is great because you can put stickers on it! It’s a great texture, the binding is good and the covers are sturdy. Paper thickness is good with no bleeding and minimal ghosting (only with big block letters).

These are SUBSTANTIAL!
I am very particular about my notebooks. While I had a favorite before, those are now unavailable, so I decided to try these. Wow. The pages are very heavy paper, the binding is excellent (Hard bound, not spiral) and the covers are as heavy as a hardback novel. While I was looking for grid paper, the dot grid is excellent and most importantly, the dots aren’t too dark. I write with #2 pencils and the feel of the lead over the paper is great. The paper must have a ever-so-slight roughness that really makes the writing nice. I just reordered so I will have a good stock. Excellent!!
