PATIENTLY WAITING FOR THE 16.9oz size!!!I like this version of The Atlantis just as much as the HotelCollection brand….and this one is much more budget friendly. This brand has become a go-to for me…I like almost all of what I’ve tried. I have to say, I don’t smell any of the notes listed in the description, but I have found that to be true for most fragrance oils of all the brands I’ve tried. The Atlantis, to me, has a clean, almost powdery like scent… very neutral. Remember that it will smell a little different in your diffuser (especially a waterless/nebulizing diffuser) than it does just smelling it from the bottle. When I decided to go down this rabbit hole of hotel scent diffusion almost 2 years ago, I was clueless. So let me share a few things that may be helpful if you’re just getting started with this. First of all, DO NOT ever buy the cheap oils that don’t meet IFRA guidelines… there are cheaper brands out there, but some contain toxins, carcinogens, chemicals, phaliates etc. Remember that you’ll be breathing this in overtantly as the scent envelopes the space. So don’t skimp on the fragrance oils…if your budget is fairly limited (and this can be an expensive endeavor) go with some of the less expensive diffusers. After trying numerous types and brands, I have found that a waterless nebulizing diffuser works the best for me. We have very high ceilings, and somehow, the diffusion and dispersion work best with these, vs the kind that you add a few drops of oil to the water tank kinds of diffusers. I have tried the box shaped, the cylinder shape, and the small cordless recharable ones. Some of my favorites are Bicedo, Airscent, and Levona. I have a $599 😲 tall cylindrical waterless diffuser that I really like, but would never recommend bc the price point is just ridiculous. I have tried numerous brands that work just as well but cost a fraction of that one. But hey, if you have the budget, go for it. Because almost all fragrance oils are so concentrated and can be a little overwhelming, I sometimes run both of my diffusers at night and have them set to automatically turn off right about the time we’re waking up… the scent lingers all day without being too much. I have a friend who does this in her salon as well. It just creates a nice smelling atmosphere where the scent lingers all around the space without having any ‘strong spots’ meaning it smells stronger in one part of the space than another. Another thing to note is that the diffusers take maintenance! If you forgo the maintenance, the unit (any type) will eventually clog and leak the oil 🫤. Once a month, simply take the oil out of the bottle and replace the oil with rubbing alcohol (the cheap stuff you’ll find in any store) and run the diffuser as you normally would for 10-15 min. That’s it. Super simple but makes all the difference. If you read reviews of diffusers, and people talk about them leaking after a month or 2, that’s why.The waterless diffusers breakdown the oil into almost a nanoparticle puff, which in some units is almost invisible, and it disperses thruout the space right away. And while this may sound like it would use the oil up quickly, it’s actually to the contrary… 4 ounces will last me a couple of months or more, using in 2 diffusers, and running them on a lower setting all night long.If you take nothing else away from this review PLEASE LET IT BE THIS… the quality of the fragrance oils is THE MOST important thing. Look for brands that are made in the USA, are toxin and chemical free, pet and people safe, and follow the guidelines set by the IFRA. Everyone wants to have a great smelling home, but not to the detriment of anyone’s health.Do yourself a favor and go to this sellers homepage/storefront and read their story…it’s super impressive!*The Atlantis is not too floral, not sweet, not too musky or fruity…to me, it’s just clean, gender neutral, and soft. And as I mentioned, I have a friend who owns a salon and uses it there as well, and people always comment on how great it smells in there. Scent is so subjective, so if this doesn’t strike a cord with you, try some this brands’ other scents… I love that this brand offers small sizes so you’re not committed to a huge purchase of something you don’t care for.The photo below shows the smallest size of the Atlantis oil in a cordless diffuser, and this will last nearly a month on low setting. For me, it actually comes out cheaper than the plug ins that have lots of questionable ingredients. 💁🏼‍♀️
