Quality of paper can make or break your journaling practice. For this reason we offer two paper thicknesses: Thick 120gsm paper for traditional journaling with some light marker work and the ultra-thick 160gsm paper that can take on creative mediums.

When inspiration strikes and you feel like journaling, the last thing you want is to not have a pen! We equip our journals with a premium fineliner we call “The Scribbler” and an elastic pen loop that can fit in any pens/markers of your choice.

Great no-ghosting dot-grid journal.
This year, I bought three journals to test out… this one, and the Scribbles that matter A5 version, and the Archer & Olive A5 version. I used the Archer and Olive last year and loved it. It was crazy durable. This year, I set up the Archer and Olive and this one (Scribbles that matter B5). Iâm a month into it, and I seriously love this journal. I find it just as good as the Archer &Olive quality wise, but at a way better price point. The vegan leather feels really nice. The difference between the two are that the scribbles that matter have numbered pages, the center dot is a tiny cross, and middle dots on the borders are tiny dashes, which make counting and centering much easier, which is a big plus. The very front opening and back opening have designed pages, so itâs a plus or minus depending on your preference (I like to draw on blank pages, so thatâs three less canvases). It also comes with index pages (again either a plus or minus depending on your preference). The scribbles that matter also have a designated pen test page in the very back (the last page has a designed âpen testâ logo in it). Notice these differences are also present in the A5 size as well. Although both claim to be 160gsm, for some reason the scribbles that matter do feel ever so slightly thinner (maybe itâs coated differently?), but it still passes the heavy fountain pen test. No ghosting whatsoever. So it still matches the quality. There were a few reviews where people claimed that it took forever to dry. I didnât experience that at. Granted I use ânoodlersâ brand ink for my fountain pens which I find to be a great quality ink. The only time I notice a smudge is when I accidentally did an extra hard press on my fountain pen causing an extra heavy flow, but it would smudge ANY paper at that point, and would require an extra long dry time to prevent any smudging. So over-all I find this to be a great quality dot-grid book. My main uses are bullet journaling and sketching. I really like the size of the B5 book. (I did do a bullet journal set-up on YouTube IF you want to see my compare and contrasting quality of said journals, but I hope this review suffices enough).

I am beyond impressed
Straight out of the box, this journal feels high end, durable, and luxurious. I use Archer and Olive notebooks regularly and sometimes Notebook Therapy. I didn’t even order this as a journal, but for my counseling notes at my job in place of a traditional planner this school year. I got the B5 because I thought that would be a good middle ground to my usual large Happy Planner and my bullet journal- well, now I think my future bullet journals are going to be STM. I love the grid guide and that the middle of the page is marked. The pages sit perfectly flat and the binding looks like it’s going to be sturdy. Most of all, though, is the FEEL of the journal. It is like, buttery-smooth and just soft and nice to the touch. I also appreciated the included fineliner pen, which I already tested with my highlighters and there is ZERO smudge and no need for drying time. All around, just couldn’t be happier about this purchase and already planning my next one. I am picky and have high standards for notebooks that cost what these high end ones cost and I expect to get what I pay for, otherwise I’d just go buy a $7 one from Michael’s- which is also just fine and how I started, actually, but this meets every expectation and if you’re picky like me- I recommend these with confidence. I can’t imagine anyone not absolutely loving these notebooks and the extras that come with them.

My Bullet Journal Search Is Finally Over
I rarely write reviews, and so the fact that I’m doing so for this product is saying something. I’m very happy with my purchase.I’m new to bullet journaling, but I have been journal writing for decades. Over the years, I have tried dozens of different journals of different brands and quality, but since I am a fountain pen user, shadowing and bleed through have always been a significant problem for me.This one is by far the best journals I have ever owed, and it is terrific for bullet journaling. Ghosting is minimal, and bleed through is non-existent. There are also numerous touches and details that show much thought and care went into its preparation. * It’s bulleted pages are numbered. * It includes useful, preprinted pages: 1 key legend, 3 indexing pages, and 1 pen test page (at the back). * It has a pen loop on the spine. * The paper is quite a bit brighter than other journals with which I’ve worked. * The paper’s quality is quite nice. Smooth and heavy (100gm I think). It does not bleed or feather. * Its dot grid is a nice balance between being legible and not in your face all the time. * The binding is top notch, glued and stitched without any excess glue holding together the pages. * The cover is hard, durable, and has a beautiful contrasting stitch on the spine. * It features two page marking ribbons, both black. The only minor suggest I have is to make each ribbon a different color to make it easier to differential between the pages you have marked. * It was available in my favorite size (B5).Finding all these attributes together in one journal was surprisingly difficult. I won’t bother ever trying to find another journal as long as I can find these in stock.

Well made with heavyweight pages
I got this in the pastel pink dotted journal size B5 (7×10). It is vegan leather and buttery smooth. The dots are very, very faint, which could be a positive or negative depending on what youâre looking for. The pages are heavyweight 160gsm so it can withstand any markers without bleeding or ghosting. It really is a beautiful minimalist journal but I have decided I prefer a spiral bound so unfortunately this is going back but I recommend it without hesitation!

Exceptional journal, perfect for fountain pens, markers, and even watercolour. I’m using this as a planner, but the quality is encouraging me to expand my creativity with additional media.Also, the little bookmark each journal comes with makes it so much faster to plot things out without needing to count each box or measure.I think I won’t be able to purchase any other journal ever again.

These have almost everything I want from a journal, which is a rarity. In fact, I haven’t found any other brand that makes them like this: hardcover, B5 size, great quality 120gsm paper, subtle dots, numbered pages, index pages, a pen loop. Build quality feels sturdy and good as well, and it’s a lovely object to hold.The center guides on each page are such a brilliant and thoughtful touch.I appreciate the pen test page as well, but since that’s made out of much thicker paper than the rest of the journal, it won’t show if the ink will bleed through the regular pages.The only thing that’s missing for me is ivory paper, which I prefer to stark white. That would be chef’s kiss for me.All in all this is by far the best journal I’ve come across.
