A little greasy, but my skin feels soft
This little jar should last a long time! Barely any is needed no matter where on your face or body you choose to use it. It has an extremely light fragrance which is pleasant. I am sensitive to scents, and this does not bother me at all. This does go on very greasy. It’s sort of like rubbing butter or coconut oil on your skin. It does eventually sink in, but not for a while. I rubbed some on the back of one hand, really focusing on rough patches like knuckles, then did the same with a hand lotion I have on the other hand. The lotion absorbed almost immediately, where this tallow stayed shiny on my skin for quite some time. About a half hour later and I do believe the hand with the tallow feels softer than the one with the lotion. My husband has been using this on dry, patchy areas like his knees which are rough and dry and he feels it is helping him. As for using on my face…it just feels too greasy for me. I may try using it at night around my eyes or neck as long as I remember to do it a little before bedtime. I don’t want a greasy pillowcase.

Dries my face more. Dont recommend
This is both too hydrating and dehydrating. When you wear it your face feels so soft and looks shiny but then if you dont wear it everyday your face will look even more dry after. I would wake up with super dry skin I could feel it so tight even without looking and then i saw this peeling. This has never happened and my skin is healing again since stopping. The scent is mild almost sweet but not drastically. I dont get floral but i could be wrong. Idk how i feel about it but it does say to use only when its thick not melted. Youd have to refrigerate if it melts.

Not as moisturizing as I thought
Box was wrapped and sealed nicely. The bottle itself was not sealed with a cover; however, given that the box was sealed, that was ok. There is a faint floral sweet smell from the jar – very faint, you have to put your nose very close to the jar. Used my fingers to take some of the balm and it is very smooth. The balm went on very easy and absorbed quickly. It is not greasy or oily. I used this as my last step in my skincare routine before applying sunscreen. The faint smell on my face was very pleasant and did go away after a few minutes. After applying sunscreen, and makeup, the balm, did not shed or pill. In the evening, I also used the balm and was hoping for extra moisturizing in the evening. Maybe I just did not apply enough. So when I woke up in the morning, my skin was a little dry. Not tight – just a little dry. The next evening I put on a little bit more then the night before – and I think my skin is just absorbing the heck out of this. I have had no reaction from the balm and appreciate that it plays well with sunscreen and makeup. Will continue to use. I am also applying it to my cuticles and cuticles also absorb the balm quickly.

Better than expected.
I was really iffy about using this when I got it. Like, ewww, beef fat. Yeah, I didn’t think it would like it even if it worked. Honestly though. I use it more now on my face than I do my facial lotions. It does help with the dry patches and gradually has helped my face from being red so much from the undiagnosed skin condition I believe I have, rosacea.
