Growing up I used to have bible verses on business sized cards that the Billy Graham organization sent me. They were perfect for memorizing scripture and carrying around. It’s hard to find affirmation cards that are small enough to take with you. These are slightly larger than a deck of cards, and you can take one with you. For those who need a reminder of God’s love and grace, these affirmation cards are just the encouragement you need. They are even better to gift to a friend or family member.

Misappropriating scripture
They’re pretty and cute, but many of the verses are taken out of context. It’s not the most harmful, but I think it can promote a surface level and maybe even self-centered rather than God-centered reading of Scripture. The benefit of that, though, is that it encourages me to look up the scripture and read the whole passage to dig for the truth, so I’m still getting the Word in. But I wouldn’t give this to anyone as a gift.

This set of Bible affirmations is absolutely beautiful. It oozes quality from the moment you pick it up. If you were looking to give this as a gift for someone – it is perfect for that.The box was protectively shrink wapped which was excellent and added to the feeling of luxury.The box which contains the cards is a cream colour on top and black underneath. The card that has been used to make it is thick and shiny and will protect the cards for years to come.The cards themselves are very attractive. All but one are cream and black like the outer box. They are the size of playing cards. Two of the cards explain that The Christian Journal Co. who make the cards donate a portion of sales to Tearfund which is wonderful. There is a range of verses – some shorter and some longer. They have been hand selected to inspire you daily. Some are quoted directly and others have been interpreted. In each case the Bible verse has been given so that you can look it up in your version of the Bible and see for yourself. I can’t wait to use it in 2024.Although I will be keeping this set for myself – I will definitely be buying more in the future to give away as gifts to friends at church.
