They make me think
There are a lot of things that I know I need to ask myself and journal so that I can get some things straight in my mind. These cards ask questions that make me think about my life, my thought processes and there are questions that I wouldn’t have even thought of on my own. Some of the prompts are harder than others. Sometimes it takes a little extra emotional strength to look at the question and face it head on. I needed to answer the hard questions. I’m not going to say that some of them didn’t make me cry. Answering them helped to release some feelings I had been avoiding. The journaling of those cards was hard, but I felt so much better after facing them and getting the answers out onto paper.

Great addition to therapy
I have been in therapy for awhile and we work on many things, but my anxiety plays a big part of my issues. I came across these and decided to try them. My therapist is big on journaling, and I feel sometimes I journal events but lack how I respond to those events. These cards really help you think, as it gives different topics. I go through the pack, and find a prompt that may relate to the issue I am currently having, or just something that speaks to me. My therapist has been impressed with the more in depth thinking and processing. If you are in therapy and want to dig deeper, or are not currently in therapy but want to work through some things but don’t know where to start or find yourself stuck, these cards may be perfect. They would make a nice gift along with a pretty journal and pen. The cards are sturdy, and can be used over and over. What a great price for “therapy”!!! Definitely recommend

Clever laminated cards with good prompts for reuse
Laminated cards – a bit smaller than playing cards, but nice size to hold in your hand or use as a bookmark in a journal. Prompt on the front matches a quote on the back to make them useful and help you think of something to write. Very nice quality, useful cards for those wanting some guidance in their journaling.

A lot of wisdom in a small deck of cards
The focus of these cards and the recommended breathing exercises is to reduce anxiety. But to be honest, I’ve just pulled one out from time to time when I have felt like I might benefit from some wisdom, possibly to calm me down but also to change my focus. I tend to hyperfocus and don’t always transition well from one activity to another (a known trait of adult ADHD). If I can motivate myself to pull a card, it creates a natural break in the action and makes it easier for me to shut down whatever I was working on and move on to something else. I’m not one that gets that anxious except when I feel overwhelmed and disorganized. Just forcing me to focus on myself relieves that sense of being out of control. I am not a frequent journaler but these would be ideal as journal prompts. I think a great self-care gift might include a deck of these cards, an empty journal, and a nice pen. I cannot imagine anybody over the age of 10 who would not appreciate these.
