Good multipurpose scent warmer that lacks some features
I’ve used a scented wax warmer for years, but always had the kind with a lightbulb, and unfortunately the light for mine seems to have been discontinued. This one appealed to me because it’s a wax warmer WITHOUT a lightbulb and purports to be multipurpose. While I’m generally happy with it, it lacks some features and has pros and cons.As a WAX MELTER, this thing works very well. I like that the dish is removable for ease of cleaning. It melts the wax cubes quickly and evenly, and seems to get hot enough to throw the scents pretty well. It has a high-capacity dish too, so you can do those mix-and-match sets where you’re supposed to mix two or three cubes together for a different scent.As a CANDLE WARMER, this definitely works good for candles where it’s burned down to the bottom and run out of wick, but there’s still scented wax left over at the bottom. Before, I’d physically scrape that out to put in a wax melter, but with this I can just stick the jar on the warming plate and have it melt and release the scent. HOWEVER, I’d *only* use it for candles in that specific low-wax scenario; the heat doesn’t “reach” all the way up the jar easily, so I wouldn’t use it with a full candle in replacement for burning it. I don’t think it could warm up the wax all the way to the top.Unfortunately, this LACKS any specific settings for heat levels, timing, or even the light color. It only has the on/off switch. I think it’s disappointing that I can’t even pick a specific color, and the cycling through all of them can be a bit distracting. Also, notably, despite the listing saying this is for wax cubes, essential oil, candle warming, or keeping your coffee warm, the actual directions only mention using it as a wax melter. So I’m not sure if it’s safety guaranteed for any of the other uses listed… proceed with caution on that.I’m happy with this as a replacement for my old lightbulb-based wax melter, especially since it saves me some effort with my used-up candles as well. But be aware that it is very basic in its function, and you’ll have to deal with the constant color changing.
