Good Presentation, Smells Nice
The candle set came in a nice box set, appropriate for a gift.I really prefer the metal tin over a glass candle. The tin is appropriate for an outdoor setting, and I especially like the cap. Not only does it provide protection and help retain the scent, it’s a great way to put out the flame when done (just put the cap on for smoke free flame extinguishing).While targeted for outdoor use, the candle does not contain any harmful pesticides and can be used indoors. The primary ingredients are soy wax, citronella, rosemary, peppermint, lemongrass, and cedarwood. The candles have a pleasant lemon scent to them, that I enjoy even without trying to repel mosquitoes.We are just starting to get Mosquitoes, and didn’t get any bites with my short testing. I plan on using these candles and a fan (Mosquitoes have a hard time flying near a fan) when they really get bad this summer.I really like the candles, but I do feel like they are on the expensive side (about 22 dollars for about 60 hours of burn time). With that said, they are very nice candles and the tin containers look and work great.

Many hours of protection
We are an avid camping family and have a permanent spot around the river. You can only begin to imagine the amount of mosquitoes that are constantly flying around. We do everything we can to deter them from us with out the use of toxic items. These candles come in a nice box if you were planning to give as a gift. It is wrapped in plastic to help keep the scent in until use. Once you remove the plastic the smell of the essential oils is so amazing. Yes it is strong but smells so good. Each candle claims to last 30 hours and by the looks of the candle it will most likely last. It comes with a metal lid that you can lay on top of the flames to easily extinguish. At this time mosquitoes are not out because it is too cold but I will be sure to update the review if they don’t work as I hoped.

Cute tins, strong smelling citronella candle
As soon as I cut the plastic around the box, the scent was abundant! There certainly isn’t an issue about the amount used for these candles -I believe it’s there!! I’m hoping the mosquitoes think it’s as strong as I do… and they don’t like it. If that’s the case, we will have a winner! I’ll have to come back and update regarding that part. These two candles are in “designer” tins you could say. The outside has ridges all the way around and it has lids with a knob to cover them when not in use. I actually really appreciate the lid since it will be outdoors. I’ll likely leave it on my patio to light when we go out of an evening, so that will help keep it clean. It’s states they used 5% citronella oil, along with rosemary, peppermint, lemongrass, and cedarwood, and 95% soy wax. (I can definitely attest to the citronella! Like I said, you can smell it the second the plastic is cut open.) The only warning, which is also written on the box, is to not pick it up until it’s cooled off as the tin will be hot on the outside. Overall: this is a cute container, I may even reuse it once the candle has burned out, and a very strongly scented citronella candle. It should do a good job of helping to keep the mosquitoes away during the upcoming season. However I do feel it’s slightly overpriced at $21.99 (as of 3/1/25) for the sized container you get (8oz., ~30 hrs burn tine). I guess I’ll have to decide if it’s worth it after summer when I know if it actually has any affect on the mosquitoes. I’ll let you know. We need all the help we can get here in Texas!

A Very Gentle, Fresh Summery Scent
My family plays hell finding candles that work. Overall, a lot of scents are very overpowering, coming off as sickly sweet or like rotten floral to us. We are normally stuck with very mild ‘earthy’ scents. Chemicals or smoke also cause breathing problems for us.This citronella candle is perfect. It has a very gentle, warm fresh scent with some lemony notes as well as some like outdoorsy trees and brush. Its like being out on a hike or at the lake in summer. It really is relaxing and brings me back to memories of family trips out swimming and camping.The candles burn great with no smoke and they dont melt away into a big messy puddle quickly. The flame is decent sized, even, and doesnt burn out of control. The design of the container is sturdy and rustic with a lid. They would work great for travel and going camping or setting up outside on the deck, around a firepit, or by the pool.

These candles smell divine
These candles are very nice! They smell wonderful! You can tell by the smell that these will be very effective!! I like the cool tin containers that the candles are in — and I love that they are easy to transport, and have a lid. And I LOVE that they are soy! I cannot wait to use these for summer outdoor gatherings. We spend time in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and these will be perfect to take with us. These candles would be a GREAT gift for anyone who spends time outdoors. Nice packaging. This is a well made, quality product. I think the price is fair. I think they should sell these at our local REI store!

Don’t Get Bugged Out
Arrived quickly and in good condition.Although not quite spring yet, it’s always best to be prepared right?These citronella candles that are Deet free, will keep those pesky mosquitoes away when you’re sipping your iced tea during the evening hours.I tested out one candle inside at first. It smells of lemony goodness, fresh and clean, without that oily candle burning scent.Bringing it outside and placing it on a table next to my chair, the aroma was still there, clearing wafting on the slight breeze.Citronella candles are just what you need to keep the flying pests away, and for a pack of two, long lasting candles for about twenty one dollars and change, it’s time to stock up.
