Holds Up Over Time
If you’re wondering “Will this work for a bullet journal?” Yes, very well actually. If you’re wondering “Will my markers bleed through the paper?” Probably not. It’s fairly thick paper, that doesn’t crinkle or tear easily, and most felt tip marker pens shouldn’t be an issue. I regularly use Sharpie felt tip pens without any trouble. (The ones with the AP black ink, and an all-black body and cap.) They fit perfectly in the journal’s elastic pen loop.The hard cover is great for writing in it even when you don’t have a nice desk or table to press on, and the A5 size is very convenient for carrying it around, while still having some privacy if you write in public spaces. There’s already a dedicated table of contents at the start for you to fill out, and the pages are already numbered. (Not sure why some other journals don’t do this. I’ve had a few misnumbering incidents.)Your milage may vary on the usefulness of the included stickers. It looks like Clever Fox tried to stick to some of the collections commonly mentioned in bullet journal guides, with stickers for budgets, fitness trackers, etc. More general stickers, like a music note or a person talking might be nice — but it’s hardly a deal-breaker.Probably the biggest selling point for me (and the reason why my next BuJo will probably be in a Clever Fox journal) is that they’re durable. I’ve had mine for nearly a year, carrying it everywhere, and there’s very little visible wear on it. It’s still a very bright tangelo orange, with no fading — and the elastic band the holds the journal closed is still fully intact. (Those elastic bands are usually the first thing to go on other journals.) Considering you *can* take the journal anywhere, the pocket in the back cover is extra useful for carrying things like photos, gift cards, holiday cards, et cetra, until you can find a more permanent place to put them.I will say that if you want to look back on your journal years later, it’s important to use the appropriate pens. I still have old notebooks from school about 15 years ago, and already the ink is turning brown and faded. To avoid that happening with your journal, try using pens with archival ink. The big “AP” symbol is usually a good sign. I personally like to carry small stacks of sticky notes pressed into the back cover so I always have them handy, but I can’t recommend sticking them in between pages or leaving the notes in for years, since the glue on the notes is *not* acid free and could affect the pages years down the road.

Thick paper bright white paper
I really like this notebook. The paper in this notebook is thick. I use a Pilot 0.38 G2 and have had no problems with bleed-thru.If you prefer bright white paper, this is a good notebook for you. The dots are a blue gray. Small and light enough to not distract, but large and dark enough that you don’t have to strain to see them.The pages are numbered with an easy to read san-serif font.Other features- Symbol Reference page- Contents (3 pages)- Pleated back pocket- 3 ribbon markers- Elastic band to keep it closed- Pen loop (although the Pilot G2 doesn’t fit because of the grip)- 155 pages- Stitched bindingI would prefer a hard cover, but it is an extremely stiff soft cover. Although it may not be for everyone, I like the whimsical embossed designs. I purchased the A5 Forest Green. It is a nice dark green.The insert says there is a 60 day no questions asked money back guarantee.

Great way to start the year!
Every year for Christmas I get one of these journals to start my new year. The price is reasonable, it’s sturdy and you can use most pens/markers without bleed through. I use it all year and I always have a few blank pages, plenty of room for daily notes, garden plans, creative endeavors, planning trips or whatever interests you like to plan out. The only thing I would change is the embossed cover. I don’t mind the fox or the words clever fox, but the other “doodles” make me think of high school and we can all do without that!

Excellent journal
Iâm very pleased with this journal. At first, I thought the embossed cover would be distracting. But I like the look and feel of it. The pages are amazing, nice bright white with the dot grid being just the right depth of black. And the quality of the paper is first rate, no ghosting or bleed through. The rear pocket is nice and wide, easy to get things in and out of. It has three ribbons for placeholders. And a preprinted index and page numbers. Very useful.The size and weight of the journal will allow me to carry it everywhere. I use it as my bullet journal.

I love virtually everything about this notebook. It’s a little taller than my others, so my layout stencils fit better. The pen loop is a lifesaver. The paper doesn’t bleed at all (although it’s a little glossier than my others possibly so sometimes I smudge if I’m not careful to avoid it). I love having space for a key at the front as well as contents. I even like the font of the page numbers. The cover is beautiful and I love so many ofl the colours it comes in. Unfortunately, the cover also bulges somewhat. It says “hardcover” but it’s actually a little bendy. It’s not going to stop me from using it, or possibly even ordering another one, but it is going to bother me.

Gorgeous journal! Thick, smooth, bright white paper. I use a fountain pen and there was just the tiniest hint of shadowing over the page, you honestly wouldn’t see it unless you were looking. The dot grid is subtle, it’s easy to use when laying out pages but your eye kind of skips over it once you’ve filled the page.I was a bit dubious about the designs on the cover but they’re a lot more subtle in real life than in the stock photo. The colour is a rich purple and the journal lays flat well, it’s easy to write and draw in.I love the fact that the pages are pre numbered, and there’s space at the front for a key and an index – I don’t usually bother indexing journals because it’s such a faff, but this one makes it easy.Great price too, I’ve had others that were significantly more expensive than this, but where the paper was thin and the quality really not good. Absolutely delighted with this!

I’ve used bullet journals for several years and this is a nice journal. I like the design on cover. It has three ribbons for bookmarks – I don’t use them much but they are ok. It has a pocket in the back, the pages are thick enough that you can colour and stamp with them.
