From the Publisher
Expressing gratitude has shown to have countless benefits from reduced stress, increased optimism, better sleep and an overall increased satisfaction with life. This is true for not only adults – but children as well. Especially as children are developing the ability to be grateful for what they have when they are learning to appreciate what they have instead of constantly want more.
An amazing thing is that being grateful is a choice that you can make everyday. So, how can you help your child practice gratitude? With this My Daily Gratitude Journal for Kids, your child can start by reflecting on both the small and big things they are fortunate to have. Things they may often take for granted, like having clean water, food, a bed, and clothes.
Encourage your child to take a look around and make note of how lucky they are to have an awesome family, friends, a school you love. Reflecting on how grateful they are for the simple things in life will not only make them more appreciative of the world around them, but may also have a positive effect on others!
Common benefits of keeping a gratitude journal for kids: Better mood and emotion regulation Increased patience and delayed gratification Provides perspective and empathy Increased optimism Happier state of mind
With a simple full-page layout per day, with a section for a few minutes in the morning and a few minutes in the evening. This journal allows your child to focus on short, intentional journaling that allows them to quickly list out three things they are grateful for as well as document things they can do to make their day great as well as list their favorite moments from each day.
Robert Emmons, the preeminent scholar in the field regarding the science of gratitude, has stated that by developing a consistent and practiced sense of gratitude, a person is able to celebrate the present, block toxic emotions, be more stress-resilient, and strengthen one’s friendships and self-worth. In order to maximize these benefits, consistency is key, especially when it comes to a child who is still learning how to be grateful. By guiding them through the process step-by-step, your child will be able to start to focus on the positive things in their life rather than allow the hardships that many children go through consume them.
Interspersed throughout the daily journaling pages are adorable coloring pages with motivational quotes and inspirational affirmations with illustrations for your child to color. This provides a fun activity for your child to do that still incorporates the positive mindset they are practicing. If you child is not writing independently yet, this makes a great activity for you to do together as you talk through the prompts and help them document their responses.

Easy to fill out
Although itâs a gratitude for children , itâs excellent for adults who do meditation . I bought it as a gift for my cousin who is a yoga instructor and mindfulness coach . Highly recommend.

Great
My daughter has been struggling, and I think this gratitude journal is going to change the way she thinks. She was super excited to fill out her first page tonight. Only thing I would change, is to have different questions for each month? Overall great though!

Super Cute
This is awesome for kids of all ages. The pages are very simple so even young kids can fill them out. I got them for a 5 and 7 year old and they both love it.

Cute, but could use more diverse prompts
It gets repetitive (especially for little kids), but itâs a nice practice

I have found this to be very helpful for my autistic son who often forgets that others have put in alot of work for him to enjoy the things he does. It has helped him go from being grumpy at the start of everyday and not looking forward to things to being able to see that he has things to be grateful for and things to look forward to.
