The first time you burn your diptyque candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours until the whole top is liquid with wax to help it burn more evenly next time. Before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length, which will allow the candle to burn slowly and will help avoid black marks around the edge of the glass. Clean, soft, rose scented candle.
I adore these candles and don’t currently have a Diptyque retailer in the city I live in. Ordering off Amazon is a great option – the candle came perfectly packaged and smelled great, even before lighting. These candles do cost a pretty penny, but they really do offer such a unique combination of fragrance and are quite long-lasting and potent. I always get compliments and inquiries into the candles when they are lit in my home. This candle is a great choice for spring & summer, as it’s a nice, mild rose & black currant scent. Often times people refer to it as a ‘starter’ scent from Diptyque.Plus when it burns down, you have a lovely little jar for your makeup brushes, pens or what have you!

Fragrance is heavenly
The fragrance is wonderful and makes you want to bathe in it. It’s not cloying despite being fruity. I only wish the candle lasted longer.

Worth it.
What does a $60+ candle smell like? Really, really good. Diptyque candles burn slowly and evenly and have a really nice, strong fragrance – I burn mine for maybe half an hour at a time to make the apartment smell all day. I’ve had mine for months and I’m about 1/3 through it. Baies is my ideal fruity candle – not super sweet, with a little rosy floral note and a tiny bit of amber to temper it. It’s a genuinely good investment, if you can call a really nice scented candle a good investment.

I love diptyque candles except for the cost of them! I have purchased this scent before and it is my favorite. Not to sweet, not to musky, and not obnoxious! I always get compliments when I burn it. It burns evenly and you do get 50-60 hours.

my favorite Diptyque fragrance so far
I have had several of these Baies candles (and some other fragrances as well), and I just love this one. Sure, they’re expensive, but the quality is there. And this particular fragrance is just intoxicating. It fills up my little apartment with happiness.You do want to burn it long enough the first time to melt the entire top surface, and to keep the wick trimmed and centered. With a little care, you can burn it all the way to the bottom so you get every last cent of scent from it.

My Diptyque Baies Candle has no scent!
I paid a great deal of money for this highly touted candle. I followed the directions on the enclosed information — and I got very little or no scent from it. Did I receive a lemon??? If there is something more I should be doing, I would appreciate knowing. This is a $60.00 item. Pretty pricey. I have gotten far better results from cheap candles purchased from TJ Maxx.
