Beautiful, well-made Journal – Great for Journaling and Art
This is my first time using a BUKE dot grid notebook for bullet journaling. I messed up my 2023 journal at the very last of December so at the last minute decided to order a new one. All the ones I looked at originally were already sold out, then I came across this brand. I am so glad the others were all sold out, otherwise I might not have found the best journal I have ever used! The package arrived quickly and was packaged very beautifully. I will definitely say this would make a GREAT gift for someone, as it was packaged very nicely and fun to unwrap. The journal came with a nice quality bookmark, a package of stickers to use, and the most handy thing ever – a mini, heavy duty, frosted white plastic grid-style ruler that I have already used so much already. It is just the perfect size for each page to help draw your layouts/lines. I already consider it one of the most useful tools I now have. The journal itself does not have page numbers (which I like as I like to do them myself). Next comes a page to write your name, then starts with the dotted pages. It has a hard cover and lays completely flat no matter which page you are using…this is a very important quality for when your are doing your layouts in the center. Normally I use only 160gsm paper but this was, I believe, 170 gsm and WELL WORTH getting. The pages are very thick. So far, I have used TomBow water-based pens, Zebra Midliners, colored pencils, sharpie metallic markers, regular lead pencils, Koi Coloring Brush Pens, and all different sizes of my Micron archival ink pens (even the 10 and 12!) without so much as a speck of bleed-through so far! I did try to lightly watercolor one page but I am not very talented with watercolors as you will see in the pictures, so the page warped slightly. I might have used a little too much water, but not sure. So for watercolors…I can’t recommend using those. unless you don’t mind slight curving on the backside of the page. Even with that…the watercolor paints did not bleed through. One other thing I did was to create pockets out of medium heavy cardstock. Even with glue and cardstock, the page held up perfectly fine and turned out great.I definitely recommend this Journal for any project you have; it is so well-made that if you really love to be creative and artistic…this is the one for you!! You will absolutely love creating art in it. Also, the dots are a bit faint (I need to use a small lamp nearby as I work) but they match up well and are not TOO dark which is also a popular feature. Overall, the paper is very thick, the book itself seems to be very well put together, and you shouldn’t have bleed through to the next page when using any of the tools I mentioned earlier in this post. The only negative thing I guess I could say about it, is that the stretchy band used to close your Journal with is yellow. Would be nice if it matched the journal itself, but I love it so much I don’t even really care that it is yellow. I am already going to buy another one very soon for next year’s journal. If I could afford it, I would buy 5-6 more right now so that I could have them already in my desk waiting for other projects! I am extremely happy with this journal so far, it really allows me to have a lot of creativity with it’s thick pages and what seems to be high durability. I plan to use BUKE journals from now on and no other kind. I am confident that whoever else buys one will love it too. You won’t be disappointed with this item.

Great for artists, crafting, & bujo
I bought this notebook to be a book journal. It looks just as expected and is a great value for the money. There was no bleed through when coloring on the pages. They are very thick and stiff. I had roughed up one side with my marker and it did not show through. I imagine you could use watercolors too. It was a challenge cutting the page with one tool, which is not a bad thing. You would need scissors or an x-acto knife. I imagine this will check chunky if you use a lot of stickers, washy, etc. I am a little nervous the cover will pull away from the binding but time will tell. The book will lay flat but you need to flatten the pages along the binding first.

Love the paper
Love the paper. No ghosting or bleed through what so ever. The only complaint I have with it is that the cover feels a little cheap. It seems durable otherwise though.

Even better than the Scribble and Dot brand
I recently purchased a same-sized dotted journal from Scribble and Dot and enjoy that very much. But I like this one from Buke even better! There’s a trade off…with Scribble and Dot you get some “Key” and “Index” pages in the front, plus some “Pen Test” pages in the back but in exchange for those extra pages, their journal has only 160gsm paper. With Buke you don’t get any of those Key/Index/Test pages but they make up for it by giving you 180gsm paper. In fact when I opened it for the first time I thought that two pages were stuck together, but nope, the paper is just that much thicker vs the 160gsm from Scribble and Dot. The actual ‘dots’ are 5mm spacing in both brands and only slightly darker in the Buke journal vs S&D. Both however are very light with their dots, with S&D being so faint that they’re almost too light, very tough to see at times. Oh and the Buke brand does not have page numbers printed, whereas S&D do have those, just in case that feature is important to you. So, for me Buke has the perfect combination of paper/style/etc since those extra pages/features aren’t critical for me. Keep in mind you could still use any of Buke’s regular pages to create your own Key/Index/Test pages, there’s nothing preventing you from doing so, and you’d get that noticeably thicker paper. Plus Buke gives you a free selection of stickers to use in your journal…again those weren’t important to me and I’ll never use them, but to some people such freebies are a fun incentive to purchase. The Buke is a beautiful journal though and I do have to wonder if both the S&D and Buke journals are made in exactly the same factory in China since there’s a lot of similarity with some of the packaging. Doesn’t matter to me either way, but for me personally, Buke is the better value, primarily for the thicker paper.

Beautiful! But some bleed through
The pages were nice and thick, and the journal looks exactly like the pictures! My only con is that my alcohol markers did bleed through unfortunately

Beautiful
I’ve been an adventure journalist for going on 4 years now. This is my 3rd journal from this company! I absolutely live the unique designs they have. Not too mention the pages are thick enough so I can let my artistic side flow and not wver have to worry about bleeding. Customer for life!

La libreta es muy buena, yo la uso para hacer un bullet journal y las tintas de no se traspasan, las hojas son muy gruesas y vino muy bien empacado.
