This Special Issue Vetiver + Oakmoss scent will not be around long. A collision of modern and classic profiles, the scent starts with bright, modern notes of fresh air that give way to sophisticated base notes of sandalwood, vetiver, and oakmoss.
Smells like an evening walk through a lush, green field after a light rain, not an overly air-conditioned motel room in Scottsdale.
A premium, power scent that is perfect for business meetings or close encounters with someone special.
A 1.5 oz. tin lasts a good long time even with multiple applications per day.
How To Use: Gently rub fingers along the balm and then precisely apply to your pulse points (wrist, neck, etc.) The travel-friendly tin allows for a couple applications a day if desired.
Customers say
Customers find the cologne’s scent good and appreciate its value, noting it’s worth every penny. Moreover, the product is convenient for travel, being compact and easy to carry, and customers like its ease of use, with one mentioning it’s easy to apply just the right amount. Additionally, the size receives positive feedback, with one customer noting it’s longer-lasting than liquid or spray colognes. However, the longevity and sweetness receive mixed reviews – while some find it long-lasting, others say it doesn’t last as long as expected, and while some describe it as delicious, others find it cloyingly sweet.

My review of each Duke Cannon scent that I own.
I have been using DC soaps and body washes for a while now because I enjoy their fragrances but have always wished the scent would last after the shower. So I was quite excited to see that they started offering a line of colognes with the same fragrances.Unfortunately, unlike other brands, Duke Cannon does not offer samplers so to try a new fragrance is a $20 experiment. Iâm writing this review to try to describe the scents Iâve tried so that potential buyers can better guess which ones they might prefer. I will update the review whenever I try a new fragrance. The scents that Iâve tried are potent and long lasting and a tin should last a few months even with daily use so as long as one likes the fragrance, I would consider this an excellent product. So far, Iâve tried: Leaf and Leather, Bay Rum, Birchwood.Leaf and Leather: I was familiar with this one because it is my favorite body wash fragrance (formerly Old Glory). It is described as tobacco and leather and that is pretty much exactly what it smells like. Iâve always loved the rich, warm, almost fruity sweetness of pipe tobacco despite never having smoked tobacco of any sort. If youâve ever walked by a tobacco store in a mall, you probably know the scent. It is very sweet but not feminine. The leather adds a musky bit of sharpness that helps to balance the sweetness without clashing. This may not be for everyone, but it is my personal favorite (so far).Bay Rum: This is another fragrance that can be found in their soaps and body washes (which you might be able to find in some large retailers like Target, if you want to sample the fragrance without buying). Like the Leaf and Leather, this has a rich, warm sweetness. But rather than using a sharp scent to balance it, it uses strong spice notes, primarily nutmeg and allspice. It is reminiscent of Old Spice but not as âmilkyâ. Does it smell like rum? Maybe? A little bit? Itâs kind of hard to tell through the spice, but it is a very warm and inviting fragrance.Birchwood: I went into this one blind. It sounded interesting tho so I took a chance. It⦠was not what I was expecting. I use the word âsweetâ a lot when talking about these fragrances and I know from their soaps that not all of their scents are like this, but this one is perhaps the sweetest smelling that Iâve tried. It is unabashedly floral. I feel like I recognize the flower it is derived from but canât quite put my finger on it. Hyacinth? Gardenia? Iâd have to go to an Old Yankee Candle shop and peruse the flower scents there to match it. Itâs not a masculine scent at all. But after the sweetness hits you, you get an oddly tangy after scent like the smell of sawdust from fresh cut lumber which adds just a smidge of machismo. Like, âIâm a flowery princess⦠lumberjack.â Iâm not a big fan of this one and wouldnât have bought it had I known what it would smell like. As a cologne, itâs a bit too sweet and jarring, but I donât mind using a bit in my armpits to act as a deodorant. I think it isnât quite as cloying when cut with a little body musk.Vetiver and Oak Moss: Another blind buy. This one is more of a seductive masculine scent. If you are familiar with vetiver you will recognize the warm, sultry scent that makes the backbone of this fragrance. It isnât quite as earthy as straight vetiver tho and has a bit of smooth muskiness. This isnât super sweet or cloying and not at all floral like the birchwood. It also isnât as distinctive as the other colognes Iâve tried. Maybe a bit like Drakkar Noir? Itâs my GFâs fave so far.If you are trying solid colognes out and prefer natural smelling fragrances to the sharper âsportyâ scents common in menâs deodorants, I also recommend trying the Viking Revolution sampler pack. I really like their Vetiver and Clary Sage fragrances.

Good stuff!
Love the smell. Love it’s not a spray. My new daily scent will be these solid colognes. Awesome stuff, and it seems to last a good while.

Smells like a cool retired guy
First and foremost, smell is good and the application is easy. Not oily or waxy, easy to apply on pressure points and wash off your hands afterwards. Scent stays on for a while but isint overbearing, its actually quite subtle so its good for dates or maybe work. Travel friendly as well, easy to reapply. However, ill give the most accurate description of this scent that I myself couldn’t find in other reviews. The can says “citrus musk/island spice” and “locale 90 miles from key west” and oh boy, they weren’t kidding. When I first wore it I was like ok yes it hits all the citrus, rum notes that it advertised but there was something… off that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. When I walked out, I was then told that I smelled like an old man. That’s what it was. Key West (Florida) is right! Ya know what Florida consists of? Retired old guys!! That’s exactly what this smells like. Which admittedly, isint the worst thing, but I am not old nor retired so it’s not the scent for me.Will I return it? No actually, maybe it’ll be good to wear before the gym or… actually maybe ill regift it. What im saying is its not bad it’s just for a specific audience. All things considered, I recommend this product if this is the scent your looking for.

Great scent, subtle, the way it should be
I’ve seen others on here state that the scent is not strong enough, or they don’t get the quantity they should get for the price. It is very light compared to all of the colognes and sprays I’ve used in the past. However, when you use it you don’t smell like a teenager coming out of a sweaty P.E. locker room covered with a veneer of Axe body spray. Nobody is going to say, “yep, he’s here, I can’t see him but I can smell him coming.” What I do get is “you smell nice” when my wife gives me a hug. I’m positive that she is the only one I need to smell good for these days, and it takes a hug to smell my cologne then I’m sure I’m not stinking up the whole room with my Peppy Lepeau scented drugstore spray or knock-off. Bottom line, if you want to smell good with the person your closest to this is an awesome cologne; but if you want to make sure everyone can smell your existence try something else. Keep in mind, when someone says that you smell good when you are reeking of the bath you took in your smelly sauce, many times they are trying to identify the person who smells like they fell in the toilet after spraying it down with a layer of Poo Pourri. As far as the amount for the money, this lasts a whole lot longer than any bottle or spray I have purchased in the past. I’ve been using mine regularly and really can’t tell I’ve used much at all, plus it travels well in your pocket or bag so that you can dab a little on when your workday has gotten a little longer than expected. I usually use the Oak Barrel Bourbon scent. It does not smell like bourbon nor an oak barrel so that could be a hit on the negative side if you are trying to convince others you drink the fine stuff when you don’t know the difference between Clyde May and Evan Williams.

Scent is a bit off putting, not a fan of smearing greasy crap all over my skin, but figured I would try it. I’ll stick to regular cologne, horrible stuff. Imo

Great quality, great, long lasting scent. First time using a solid cologne, and it’s pretty easy. No waste, cool packaging. Would like to try the Bourbon scent cologne but it’s not easy to get in Canada and not provided by Amazon as far as I can tell. Please add the bourbon solid cologne on the Amazon website.

The container looks cool, surprisingly big like the size of an altitude container. The consistency is nice, melts nicely and isnât too oily. But honestly, the smell is likeâ¦a Christmas candle or something. Makes sense I guessâ¦itâs literally called redwood. But itâs kind of like cloves and a bit of orange. I like it, but donât want it to be âmy smellâ. Also it fades after a few hours. You might like it though.
