a little bit, naughty but worth it
Iâm an 80 year old widow I lost my husband in 40 years a few months ago I am grieving and I was told this would be a great book to read to reflect and to heal. He was my hero and I loved him very much and to use that fabulous F word occasionally Doesnât hurt. Iâm sure God would understand.

Perfect!
I just received three of Monica Sweeneyâs books, and am so excited, I put them down immediately to write this review â never done that before. These are a Christmas present for my 16 year old daughter who struggles with mood, self-esteem, confidence, positivity â the normal stuff â and I canât WAIT to give them to her! (Not to imply these are exclusively for teenagers â Iâd say theyâre for ages 16-99, as long as excessive profanity isnât an issue.)The positive and inspirational messages are spot on, and given in easy-to-read relatable chunks. Think âthings your best friend should tell you, but maybe doesnâtâ meets a page-a-day calendar, with a ton of humor thrown in.Theyâre not your typical dry self-help books â far from it. Yes, beware, they are laced with profanity, but thatâs part of their charm, really, which I think will actually give the books more credibility where my daughterâs concerned, in a cool teenager sort of way.The books donât âpreachâ, but rather, make you feel like someone is on your side, fighting along with you, and has your back at every turn, no matter what. I can easily see these books helping my daughter to become her own biggest cheerleader â an awesome gift to give anyone. So happy I found them! Now, I hope I can wait till Christmas!!

Allows me to open up
Iâve never been a reflection journal/diary/bullet journal/gratitude journal person. I only bought this as a gift for someone else who could use it. But when this arrived at my house, I started reading the prompts and laughing at how the language is similar to how I think. And I actually started thinking about how Iâd answer some of the questions. So I went ahead and bought myself one. Unlike other journals, it doesnât make me feel intimidated by the amount of lines that Iâm supposed to fill. Two days after beginning to use it, I even started going further and using the space on the opposite quote pages to expand upon the ideas the questions are asking (see pics). It doesnât ask for this, but Iâve found it helpful. And again, this is something Iâve NEVER felt compelled to do. Every morning, I wake up, make coffee, and pick up this journal. I actually look forward to the next page.

After a REALLY rubbish 2020 I bought this book to help boost positivity. This is so much more than a bog standard gratitude journal. Highly recommend!

If you feel it’s a substitute for therapy, it’s absolutely not!
