Excellent Base Oil!
Scientific studies have shown that the healthiest oils are rich in Polyunsaturated fats because they contain omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which lower “bad” (low-density lipoproteins) cholesterol and increase “good” (high-density lipoproteins) cholesterol, and Monounsaturated fats. Saturated fats on the other hand have been proven to raise bad cholesterol and puts you at risk for heart disease.Unfortunately Coconut Oil is high in saturated fats and therefore its consumption should be limited or even avoided.La Tourangelle’s Coconut oil is expeller-pressed and free of any chemicals, and 100% organic and unrefined. It has a nice coconut flavor, a light smell, and is pale and creamy white in color. I use it mainly as a carrier oil (a base oil that is mixed with other oils and ingredients) for making homemade moisturizers, lip balms and soaps. Occasionally I use it for popping homemade popcorn. It has a nice light coconut flavor.I’ve also used it as a moisturizer alone for my children’s skin and hair. I apply it to slightly damp skin and it penetrates and rapidly absorbs, leaving the skin soft and hydrated. I apply a few drops to the tips (ends) of damp hair and it leaves it soft, eliminating frizz, while adding shine and bounce. The 30 oz comes in a glass bottle and I keep it stored in the pantry. In comparison to Spectrum Naturals Unrefined Coconut Oil, the La Tourangelle’s has a much more noticeable coconut smell and flavor but they both preform equally well when used to make the same products. Grade A+

Temperature Sensitive
I should have thought of this when I bought it, but it does melt in warmer temperatures. When it arrived it was 100% liquid (I live in TX and it shipped in the summertime). Upon placing in a cold room it chilled and became a solid pretty fast. Surprisingly, I actually found it was much easier to apply on the skin when liquid (much like an essential oil). This is expeller pressed, and I recommend avoiding that if possible as it means that it was extracted under heat and degrades nutrient value and begin to oxidize. However I do like that it in in a glass jar to avoid micro-plastics (especially considering it was pressed in heat). I do also like the is manufactured in the USA.This is one of the best prices you can get for this size of Coconut Oil. Worth the investment and long supply of it if you are using it for health and beauty purposes.

Good quality
It’s good quality stuff. Most importantly it doesn’t have little pieces in it and is perfectly smooth. It is ODORLESS which is what you SHOULD expect from refined coconut oil. If you’re looking for scent and flavor you need to buy unrefined.

Great Scent!
Smells great. Would work as cologne. Is it that much better than I can buy in the store for less money? Probably not, but it definitely smells better.

Great for cooking
Great for cooking because there is no strong coconut flavor. Good quality product!

Perfect for what I needed!
I have been moving to a more nontoxic lifestyle and wanted to make my own moisturizer to use for my incredibly dry skin, which is compounded by washing my hands so many times a day thanks to our pandemic (not a complaint!).It soaked right into my skin, leaving it feeling nicely moisturized and only microscopically “greasy” feeling. The scent is not overpowering and it melts down easily.I even let my dog have a spoonful every so often and it appears to be his favorite out of the ones that we’ve tried.

Love this oil
Great for your skin, cooking and making popcorn. Fun fact, the movie back in the 1940’s & 1950’s used to use coconut oil to pop popcorn. Then in the 1970’s they switched over to hydrogenated oil. My Mom told me about this because as a child she experienced eating popcorn at the movies with coconut oil. You can’t believe how incredible the corn smells using this coconut oil.

Excellent cooking oil. I’m glad I started using refined coconut oil as it does better at higher temperatures and can be used for anything since it’s virtually flavourless!
