We bought this bar for an alternative use. We purchased it as a bar to put hangers on in the laundry room. I wasn’t sure it would work since the bar would have to be hung from underneath a cabinet. I am pleased to announce with very little effort, I was able to hang the bar in order to put hangers on the bar. I knew I would have to add a small board under the bottom of the cabinet so the screws wouldn’t poke threw, so I predrilled, lined up and started screwing the hardware into place and made sure the covers and bars would be in the appropriate place when screwed in completely to the bottom of the cabinet. Next, I took the board that was preset up and screwed the board and hardware into the cabinet bottom, attached the left cover and tightened securely, I attached the bar and right side cover and tightened the right towel bar cover and checked the security. Super pleased at the stability and strength. It is perfect for our hangers.

Looks decent and not very hard to install.I needed a shorter length so I cut the bar with a tubing cutter (e.g. for conduit or copper pipe). If you need to do this then mount both brackets first (I used a level) and temporarily put up the base (cone) parts on the wall brackets. Measure the distance between the points where the bar goes into the mounted base. Then add 1 inch (because the bar goes into the base about 1/2 inch on each side). Cut to this (measured+1) length. Remove 1 base from wall, insert bar into wall mounted base, then into the removed one, then remount latter to the wall. This is easier than cutting first and then trying to determine bracket positions.

I have been updating simple hardware and found most sets to be of a quality downgrade. This bar alone is the old fashioned bar I have installed over the years, I like the old style and glad I got two.

More durable design than the cheaper ones. Was surprised that some sizes came with slotted set screw and others came with hex. Why the difference? Not a big deal, just and to go find a small screw driver for some of them, but they do tighten well so they do the job. The rod seems to be pretty strong so won’t bend if you happen to put a little weight on it by mistake …. BUT don’t test it! ð
