I like it
I love having warm towels after each shower, even on warm days. What I liked about this product is that it heats fast, and is very hot. I picked this one in particular because it is actual chrome, unlike others I’ve seen at local stores where it is just painted to look like brushed silver or chrome but it is actually plastic or something else. It also works like a radiator (yes, it will warm up the room too like an oil or water filled radiator). I like that silent, quiet heat that softly warms up the bathroom. The cons: it burns. I accidentally touched it with the sensitive skin of the wrist to get a pretty bad burn, still have the mark 3 months later. It also burns/marks the towels so I can’t keep them for too long or avoid using this with your fancy favorite ones, and I would not use it for drying clothing at all (it has no thermostat just on or off but you can purchase one separately – I just know that i personally would not use it other than on its highest setting). Another issue is getting the towels wrapped around each bar for maximum exposure to the heat (i.e., making them warmer), I would avoid doing it while the warmer has been on for a while as it will burn, but it helps make the towels warmer. But overall, I like that it works. If it was not hot it would not heat the towels enough.

Myson model WPLR08: Beware of the new design
Having bought four of these warmers after suffering three failures, I feel impeccably qualified to write a customer review. Or perhaps I’m insane for buying them repeatedly, you judge. I kept buying the same model to avoid drilling new holes, spackling, and repainting my bathroom wall (by the way, If thatâs your motivation as well, keep reading until the end).Although I did not cut them open and perform a post-mortem, I believe my previous WPLR08s failed because the internal resistance wires overheated and broke apart. They worked fine while they lasted, but Myson was obviously facing a quality problem. Iâm assuming Myson decided to reduce power to extend life expectancy. The current model is not nearly as warm as the older model. My first three WPLR08s were rated at 150W; the new model is claimed to emit 110W. Does it feel like it’s emitting 40 fewer Watts? Perhaps. If you are looking to replace the older model and you were used to very nicely-heated towels, look elsewhere. The new WPLR08 does a good job of drying towels, but upon use, theyâre not very warm on your skin. However, if thatâs the price of a more practical, extended lifespan, that might be all right with me.And speaking of price, at $193, the retail price has risen by about $50 since I last bought one. Thatâs quite a lot. Looking at other brands, I can only assume thatâs what the market is bearing these days. And last, if youâre looking to replace an older WPLR08, be aware that the location of the mounting posts has moved a few inches. This might have been done to achieve part commonality with wall mounting hardware. So, I had to drill, spackle and repaint anyway. In summary, if youâre looking to replace an older model, be aware of these differences. If this is your first WPLR08, and you donât mind tepidly-warm towels, and youâre put off by the high prices of other brands, give it a try. If this model ends up lasting no longer than my other three, Iâll come back and down-rate this review.

Current model does not live up to previous model.
I ordered this product to replace the exact model which we previously owned and loved. When the original towel warmer installed in 2010 failed I replaced it a second time because I loved the warmth of towels and was prepared to cover the expense as it was just out of warranty. However this third one doesn’t match the warming capabiliteis of the original models. Firstly it is a little bit shorter so the wall fittings needed changing and the diameter of the bars are smaller. I would not recommend this product.

Nice, warm towels…
This towel warmer gets very warm, almost hot. I did not have any trouble with burning my towels, but it makes them so dry that they are kind of scratchy. They also get a funny smell. Still, the warmth is worth it to me and I would buy it again. It also drys them really well and I think it helps reduce the atmospheric moisture in the bathroom.

Pearl 8 Bar Wallmount – nice but could be better
I liked the look and the size of the towel warmer and how easy it was to assemble and mount on the wall. I left a dry towel on the warmer for 20 minutes and I was a little disappointed by the lack of heat in the towel for the price. I am not sure if there is a limit to how much heat you can add before you hit a “danger zone” but the towel never made it to that point.not even close. Without having another one to compare I gave this one 3 stars…-2 for lack of higher heat to suit me.

Towel Warmer
Great in the winter on a cold night. The only draw back is that it takes awhile to heat the towels, but if you put a little thought into it, you can be toasty warm in cold, damp weather.
