These are a must have on a hot summer day. At some point. It turns into a soupy mess, when the weatherâs really hot, but it does discourage pests till time to throw it out.

Helps minimize mosquitoes in our backyard
I have been these Off Backyard candles for years. I buy them during the mosquito season here in LA. This has been my experience:PROS:1. Minimizes Mosquito activity – Citronella candles mask our scent from Mosquitoes. So this is camouflage from Mosquitoes. It does not repel them. If you light these an hour or so before going out, it would have enough time to circulate outside and make the mosquitoes move on as well.2. Pleasant fragrance – They do smell very nice and make your backyard smell great.3. Ambiance lighting – Great for outdoor parties as a table light as well as hide your guests from mosquitoes.4. Lasts a long time – I light my candles every day at dusk and dawn and blow them out when we go inside. So about 3-4 hours a day lasts about a week.5. Repels flies – I noticed that flies did not go near the area around these candles. It seems to repel flies. Mosquitoes would fly near the candles but would not bite us most of the time.CONS:1. Does not repel mosquitoes – Unlike DEET, it does not actually repel mosquitoes. But if you have a heavy concentration of mosquitoes, you probably should use this in conjunction with bug spray.SUMMARY:Yes, it works. But, you have to leave it lit outside for some time before going out. It does not repel mosquitoes, just hides you from them. It repels flies though.

Love OFF
I love the OFF! brand, they just work. It works so well that sometimes I have to go inside because it’s so effective! However, they are kinda pricey, and I usually use three at one time. Just stay aware of the space because of the chemicals the scent is strong. These have done better than some organic candles I’ve tried, I can’t afford to be eaten alive so OFF it is!

Keeps the Bugs Away Without Being Overwhelming
This citronella candle is a backyard essential. It actually does a great job keeping mosquitoes and other annoying bugs at bay, which makes sitting outside so much more enjoyable. The scent is there, but itâs not overpoweringâitâs more of a fresh, lemony vibe than that strong chemical smell you sometimes get with bug repellents.

Barely half as full as the listing looks
They smell great and very strong, I’ve used the brand before so I trust they’ll be decent. But the candles themselves look barely half full compared to the listing. No apparent melted or spilled wax that would make me assume that it just melted and spilled either.

MELTED, MESSY, NO FIRE WICK
This item came melted and one of the candles did not have the fire wick so I can’t light it. I ended up keeping it because it was Thanksgiving when I realized they were all messed up and I really needed a candle outside. Altjoihj the one was melted I was still able to use the one. The other without the fire wick was tossed away unfortunately.
