Good, but not just castor oil in it.
I purchased this castor oil for my wife and me, as we frequently use it for our hair and skin. This package offered a few different applicators for skin, hair, and eyebrows. I liked the addition of rosemary oil for an added scent.While the product claims to natural, cold-pressed, and 100% pure, the ingredient list on the bottle contains several unfamiliar terms. I was expecting to see only castor oil, mint oil, and rosemary oil, but instead, there’s a list of about 20 ingredients, including some other natural oils like cocoanut. It’s important to note that this is not pure castor oil or a simple blend of castor oil, mint oil, and rosemary oil.The oil absorbs well, and the infused versions have a nice aroma. I wish the label would more clearly indicate that it’s a blend of many oils rather than pure castor oil.

Quality Product, Nice Packaging
I was really impressed with the overall quality of this whole product. Everything from the outer packaging to the bottles and the dropper was really high in level and standard. The outer packaging with all the pink was lovely and looked like it could have been a perfume bottle box, then the two bottles of hair oil were nicely separated and neat. I liked that because the gap allowed me to keep one in nice safe condition while I was using the other. The reason I mention the outer box by the way is because this is a double product and if need be you might want to keep one inside the box in storage while using the other.The nice packaging ensures you don’t forget what you have and that it stays neat and nice until you’re ready to dip into the second bottle.The bottles are a little bit smaller than other Jamaican Castor Oils you might have bought in the past but I think what you gained is the increase in the quality of oil. The oil within is so fine that when I poured it on my hand and applied it to my scalp it absorbed really quickly and I wasn’t left with a scalp that felt oily or too moist.It absorbed in nicely and I was able to function after applying it without fear of dripping or spreading. The smell was nice and I liked the dropper option because I could control how much or how little of the oil I poured out. Smell lingered a little but wasn’t overwhelming and I hadn’t heard any complaints.I personally didn’t use this as a face oil or eyelash enhancer but the seller did provide that option in the form of a disposable eyeliner wand that you could use to place along your lash line so that was nice.Highly recommend this product.

When I saw the ad for this set of oils, I was intrigued so read some reviews.Seeing the reviews that say wonderful things like ‘The oils, being 100% pure, natural, and cold-pressed, exude quality and authenticity, making them an excellent choice for those seeking natural beauty products. AND This two-pack includes two bottles of essential oil, AND The bottles are a little bit smaller than other … Oils you might have bought in the past but I think what you gained is the increase in the quality of oil.’ really made me excited to try these.What I missed was the review that stated ‘upon reading the labels, these oils arenât pure. I can’t find anywhere on the listing that mentions these oils are blends with a bunch of other things mixed in’. Well, THIS was absolutely correct!I removed the shrink wrap from the box and got a whiff of …something. I opened the bottles and smelled them. I instantly knew they were diluted. I looked for the ingredient list, and the #1 ingredient of the so called Rosemary Oil and Mint is mineral oil. Yep! Diluted! Next up is ethylhexyl palmitate (a chemical compound derived from palm), then there’s hydrogenated styrene/isoprene copolymer, a synthetic polymer. STYRENE!!! THEN we finally get to Rosemary oil. Really, why call this rosemary oil with mint? Call it what it actually is, what the #1, 2 and 3 ingredients make it, mineral oil with chemicals.I stopped reading that one and went on to the Castor Oil and rosemary. #1 is Caprylic/capric triglyceride – while ‘natural’, it isn’t castor oil. #2 ingredient is Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, a synthetic ester, the #3 ingredient is your castor oil – you know, the ingredient you think this actually is, since it’s CALLED castor oil and rosemary oil. Rosemary oil is down around #5.I’ve done what the seller should have done, what all sellers should do willingly in the interest of transparency. I’ve included a photo of the ingredients label from the exterior of the box.Oh, and notice, the title states in part, “Organic Rosemary Mint & Jamaican Black Castor Oil”, the word organic is NOWHERE on the product. It also states, “100% Pure, Natural, Cold Pressed Hair Oils,”, this is extremely misleading, and at this point, I must believe it is intentionally done. While it may USE pure, natural cold pressed oils, the product is neither 100% Pure, nor is it natural.Not that I should have to go further, but I will. Let’s take a look at the gua sha tool. In the photo in the ad, it looks like jade. Quality tools sometimes are. This ‘tool’ appears to be hardened green glass. It’s all one color and is dark green. The only resemblance to the photo is the shape.When I get a product for review, I take it seriously. It would be so much easier and definitely quicker for me to say this is a nice product and move on. Then I think if I’d want my daughter or grand babies to use it. For this one, that’s a big giant NO WAY! There is no way I can recommend this product.
