Must read if you are looking for a leather scent..
So it’s important for me to make this clear for everyone that has written a bad review for the leather scent, and for the future customers. I love the smell of leather and I like to smell like it. So I usually carry a leather waffle in my wallet. I work in the car business and love being able to smell like leather when I’m with a customer. So I have been searching for a product that I could use as cologne. This is what I was hoping for. First I tested it out on my oil diffuser at home to see if it would make my home smell good and last. IT DID!.. I used 4 drops and it’s been two days. Still smells good. One thing I notice people constantly say is that it stops smelling after a few hours. Well let’s be clear a person’s olfactory receptors will only allow the human body to detect the same smell for a short period of time. So yes the smell may go away to you but it doesn’t mean the smell weant away in general. I tested this out by leaving my home and returning from a weekend trip and as soon as I entered my home the smell of leather was strong. My vehicle also smells great. And yes now I am using it on me as well to creat a leathery scent as cologne. This is a great product and I appreciate the cost being low. Most companies will charge high dollar for a leather scent because they know it is hard to reproduce the effect. I will now order the large bottle. Thanks again for creating a cost efficient leather scent.

Better than most, but highly concentrated
This smells the most like natural “newly tanned” leather of any I’ve sampled, but is missing any other traditional notes. Tinkering required. With a bit of amber and even less of something “off” (I used dark patchouli) it is exactly the “old leather book” scent I was aiming for in soy wax candles. This fragrance oil is very strong/assertive. I can see the comparisons to “new car” or chemical aromas, if smelling it out of the bottle. The cap in particular, which is the aroma absorbed into plastic, does not give the proper scent.In the wax I poured (0.12oz or 5ml to 16oz wax) and after mellowing with other strong scents, it’s a perfectly good leather scent. This would not make a good single note cologne or strongly scented anything. It’s a nice scent, but too much can be nauseating. It might make a decent car diffuser, if you tone it down and want that new leather upholstery vibe. Otherwise I think this is best as part of a formula for candles or soap.Caution: This scent is assertive enough that it infused nearby candles during curing with a hint of leather. Use sparingly and beware of scent contamination when using.

Smells exactly like new leather
Another review on here described the scent as the leather you might smell at Macy’s, and I definitely think that’s the most accurate comparison. It’s not quite like old, worn leather, or a workshop, but more like that fresh, new, light scent when you’re in the purse section at a department store. If that’s not your thing, this might not be for you, but I absolutely love it.I’m not a fan of traditional floral/fruity/tropical/sweet scents that a lot of people prefer, and most leather scented candles have vanilla or something else mixed in. I love this because I can just put a few drops in my diffuser and enjoy the smell without anything sweet. I do sometimes combine it with their fresh cut wood scent. Together they almost make my room smell like it’s full of new furniture. It’s a subtle scent, but I absolutely love it, and despite being subtle, the scent lingers for hours after I turn my diffuser off. I will definitely buy this fragrance oil again, and intend to try others from this company.
