This is the third one I have purchased, one for a gift and two for my house. I will be making more purchases, does that tell you how I feel about the product?

defective
I’ve used this three times only and on the third time no steam was coming out. Window for return, of course, is over and so have a defective product on my hands. I am hoping the company will reach out and offer a return or substitute and if so I will post again but in the meantime DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ITEM

Leaking Foot
Unfortunately, I have to give the PureGuardian SPA 101WCA Cool Mist a low rating because it leaks out of the bottom of one rubber foot. It has twice left a pool of water/oil on the table after it is finished.Otherwise, the design is nice because it does not easily tip over. The base is wide and has an enclosed pod inside that keeps the water protected. Our kids really enjoyed the changing LED colors.If the leaking problem was fixed then we would give it a much better rating.

The PureGuardian SPA101WCA Ultrasonic Cool Mist Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser with Color Changing Light (*pause for breath*) is just what it says. It is 8 inches high, with a lovely design in sturdy plastic, which runs very quietly. It produces a small amount of cool mist (if you’re looking for a humidifier-type gadget, this isn’t it), through the opening in the top; when putting on the top, be sure that it is aligned correctly or the mist won’t come out the top as it should. Essential oils can be placed in the water chamber so that the fragrance of the oil is gently diffused in the room. (I had to double the recommended drops of oil to get the fragrance, but I think that is the fault of my oil, not the diffuser.)It has a light that changes color (bright colors, though, and not the pastel colors shown in the photos). One push of the power button turns the diffuser on, a second push turns on the lights, and a third push cuts it off.It uses a DC adapter for power, and the cord is about 4 1/2 feet long, which is nice for finding a good place to put it. I would have preferred it if it used batteries, but I can’t fault it for not.It comes with a nice instruction manual, that explains how to use it and what not to do.Overall it is a well designed product and exactly what I’ve been looking for.Update: 6/28/16 After quite a bit of use, I need to drop this to 4 stars. The cover doesn’t snap on, and will come off if the diffuser is picked up anywhere but the base. Also, the water chamber doesn’t remove for washing, which makes it difficult to rinse out the previously used oil. I still love this diffuser, but these problems do detract from the 5 star rating I originally gave it.Update: 8/27/16 After two months of daily use, I need to update this review. On four occasions of late, I have had a puddle of water around the diffuser. I think that the condensation is building up and draining out. It doesn’t appear to be leaking from the bottom. I’m not fully certain what is causing this, but I think the lid (which doesn’t snap on) is moving slightly from the vibration of the motor and causing the mist opening to not be in the right place. Because of this problem, I’m having to lower my rating again.

It works well. Wish I would’ve bought a more stylish one. However, practical and serves its purpose. The lights are pretty too.

not the greatest
I have had my diffuser for almost 4 years now. I LOVE IT!!!! You fill it with the cup that comes with it, using regular tap water, add in 3-5 drops of oils and it runs for about 8 hours. You can run it without the lights, which I appreciate. Since I live in a hard water area, every once in a while when I see it getting white and crusty, I fill it with white vinegar and let it sit for 15 minutes or so. Dump out the vinegar, wipe it out and you are ready to go again! I’ve never had a problem with residual smells as I change the oil scents often. A great buy. I am ordering another one for the bedroom.I bought another one and it worked well for three days. Now I keep finding puddles of water. I think the review by Gypsi has it figured out….the top pieces vibrate just enough from the motor running that they get knocked out of kilter by enough to let the water dribble out and all over whatever surface you have it on.
