I really like Root candles. They are elegant and well made. They are somewhat pricey but worth the extra money as they are above the rest of the brands in quality.

I needed 5 new 3 x 3 pillars to replace my old Pottery Barn candles. I’ve always known about the high quality (and high price) of Root candles because I used to work in a very high end furniture store where we sold them. At the time, my employee discount was 40% so I was able to purchase and enjoy them without too much pain.Fast forward to today, I was looking at an $18-$22 per candle price tag and it just wasn’t in the budget. In an absolute stroke of luck, I found these for $12.20 a piece and of course bought them immediately! I’m sure I’ll never find this kind of deal again. :(Let me tell you though, they are worth EVERY PENNY, even if you pay more! They burn evenly, without soot, and for waaaaay longer than most commercial candles. Why? Because most candles you buy are made from paraffin. Paraffin makes for a CRAP candle but a good price point. Just Google Paraffin vs. Beeswax candles and you’ll understand. These candles have no paraffin, some beeswax, and some other natural waxes.I have several candelabra pieces in my home where I burn candles often, so I need the high quality and burn time. I also CANNOT have that black paraffin soot coating my walls and furniture. I urge everyone to buy at least one if you aren’t familiar with the brand so you can experience what I’m talking about. It’s a big deal! I promise!I feel so lucky and am ecstatic I got such a great price! Did I mention how beautifully packaged they are??

Long Lasting
I tried multiple different candles, focusing on Beeswax type for many to get longevity. This has been the best candle so far to use. Many of the wide candles you must use for at least multiple hours so that the wick doesn’t tunnel. This is the perfect diameter for using an hour or more at a time, but I’ve used it many times at 30 minutes or so without issue. Longevity is by far the best of all the candles used.

Set my smoke alarms off.
Edit: candle makes a lot of smoke while burning! It set my fire alarms off!No dripping. Burns bright and slow. I wish it smelled like beeswax… I know its unscented, but beeswax has a natural honey-like aroma, this candle doesn’t have that delightful aroma for some reason.

I love the color of the raw root candle. It looks so natural and handmade. It is very expensive but candles can look cheap and tacky if they are not the right color and these are just beautiful just a bit too expensive for a candle. Fortunatly I do not actually use mine I only use as a decoration so I decided to splurge.
