The smell, the silky, smooth, shiny hair, and the rich, thick oil that goes a long way!
Sebastian Dark Oil is a true wonder in hair products! First, the smell is like the sandalwood oil perfumes I used to get at bohemian gift shops⦠delightful! Second, my hair, which requires daily if not 2X daily heat brushing, is silky and smooth with no frizz or flyaways. It isnât greasy either, but then again my thick and sometimes a little coarse hair drinks up oils in no time. Finally, it takes such a small amount since it is so very rich.*I immediately applied it to dry, not-yet-heat-brushed hair upon receiving it and was quite impressed. I look forward to using it post shower on its own as my hair already had a generous amount of Elizavecca oil in it.

I went and told my hairstylist about this product when I started using it and was told by them that this is a good product to use, which is right of the bat a great thing to hear. The product is thick and oily in texture leaving behind a slightly sticky residue on your fingers when applying. It smells rich and nutty/woodsy to me, suiting a more sophisticated style. Itâs true that the bottle is fairly small (~5in/13cm tall), but the product has lasted be a very long time as not much of it is needed for the effect. I used 1/2 – 1 pump when applying it to my hair (itâs naturally oily and fine so too much product weights down the volume). Overall, despite the high price point Iâd continue to buy it in the future and use it as a special occasion product or wait for it to go on sale (theyâve done 50% off before) and buy it then to use more regularly.

My hair tends to be very dry rather than oily. It’s professionally color treated from dark espresso brown to a blonde and the texture is naturally full and heavy. So by the time I return to the salon, the ends are always looking a little unhappy. I like to use this oil to help offset any stress going on in my hair as it helps seal in some of the moisture it always so desperately needs. The scent is divine and I only need to use a small, quarter sized pump to work through my shoulder length strands.It does not leave any greasy build up, but makes it much more sleek, shiny and polished. This is a lifesaver on days where my hair doesn’t want to behave and I use it on wet or dry hair.For the value I get out of it, it’s definitely worth the cost as I find all the Sebastian products I use to be salon level quality and satisfaction.

The oil will last forever, I usually buy, Wella hair oil. But since I found the, Dark Oil line, I buy nothing but! My hair is healthy and has a nice sheen to it. I recommend using the shampoo and conditioner with the oil for the whole experience.

I love Dark Oil so much that I’ve been buying it for years. It is pricey, so I wait for Prime Day or Cyber Monday sales. I have a lot of fine, thin hair, so I’m prone to flyaways and split ends. My hairdresser is always amazed at the difference it made with softness and split ends.I do see some reviews stating the product is expired, however, my understanding is that those dates are production dates. The 12-month shelf life is in effect once it’s opened. I’ve never had any problems with my bottles.Except for one time when I purchased from ULTA, I always buy my dark oil from Amazon. Same quality and results.

I highly recommend this oil because it smells wonderful and it works really well on my dry hair! It gives it a shiny and healthy appearance without leaving a greasy residue. A dime sized amount in the palm of your hand is all you need. A little goes a long way!

Das Beste Stylingöl was ich je hatte. Meine Haare sind etwas strohig. Etwas zwischen lockig und struppig, darum glätte ich sie. Das Ãl nehme ich nach dem Waschen als Hitzeschutz und nach dem föhnen und glätten in die Spitzen.Seit dem ich das öl habe sehen meine Haare mega gesund aus. Auch der Duft gefällt mir persönlich.
