Very thick but you can SOLVE this problem!
I bought this lotion after researching many brands. I wanted to find something non-toxic. I found Shea Moisture to have very pure ingredients without harmful parabens, etc. I have been using it for a few weeks now and really like the smell and the gentle effects of the lotion. However, this lotion is incredibly thick! I have never used a lotion this thick before. For this reason I had to use a lot of lotion in order to get it to spread. So I came up with a brilliant solution (actually it was my mom’s idea). I squeezed some into a small glass container and mixed a few drops of water in and voila! It turned into a creamy manageable lotion. You may think this is too much trouble, but I think it is well worth it. It will stretch your lotion out and you will reap the benefits of a wonderful, healthy, nourishing lotion with fantastic ingredients. I really like the gentle coconut smell too.

The New Formula is Terrible
I will say I am not one to write reviews. I have been buying this lotion for years (and have been a Shea Moisture lover for at least 10 years), and it has been fantastic. The old formula lotion didn’t irritate my skin and locked in moisture on my severely sensitive skin. The new formula is absolutely awful. It smells like cheap Macyâs perfume, is watery, and caused my skin to have serious irritations. I also noticed that they changed the formula of the Smoothie Curl Cream. Do not buy this lotion with the new formula.

Great lotion but hard to squeeze out
Wonderfully thick and creamy. Pleasent smelling and not too strong. Very difficult to get out of the plastic bottle .

Very thick lotion
I love the scent of this lotion. It is very thick so I know it will be a challenge when there is only a little bit left over in the bootle lol. I keep at work at my desk as my hands get very dry in winter months especially after washing my hands. So far so good using on my hands at work. I have purchased a few other Shea Moisture in the past and all have been good for me I believe.

Difficulty in pumping out product
The lotion was sealed perfectly. The lotion in itself is alright; it smells good and it is not greasy, almost like a matte consistency. The consistency makes it very difficult to pump it out, which is bothersome. It needs to either be diluted or in a different container.

This is an excellent lotion. It feels like a silky body butter, hydrates really well, and leaves my skin very soft. I have sensitive skin, and this doesn’t bother me at all. It’s got a light scent of natural coconut.My only complaint is that it’s too thick to pump, but I am not taking away any stars for that because the lotion itself is so good. I took a squeeze top off of a different lotion bottle, and that worked much better.

Buyer beware!Don’t buy this product in the pump bottle! I have no idea why they are even selling this in the pump bottle! It is solid thickness and the pump straw does not automatically refill for pumping! Each time the pump straw empties you have to remove the pump and reposition it several times in order to get the straw full enough pump. Sometimes that doesn’t even work! I ended up literally cutting the pump bottle in half and taking the cream out and spooning it into another container in order to be able to use it. If I hadn’t done that there’s no way I would have been able to use the contents of the bottle. I am so confused and annoyed about the way they bottled this lotion! Anyone inspecting this product after it’s bottled would know instantly that this is not a good way to disperse this lotion. I know she’s is thick, but when I saw it in a pump bottle I assumed it was in a smooth pumpable lotion form. It should only be sold in a jar because of the level of thickness. I like the lotion, but what good is it if I can’t use it the way it’s bottled and I shouldn’t even have to cut the bottle open and put it into another container in order to use it. The one star is for the lotion. The way it’s bottled is 4 thumbs down!

Me encantó la consistencia, el olor, el color y la presentación. Es una crema ligera, perfecta para pieles grasas. Puede ser complementada con algún serum. Mi piel es bastante grasa con tendencia a seca en los extremos del rostro y ha humectado todo muy bien 😉

The site shows a bottle with nozzle but the ones delivered to me do not. This cap is not suitable for the lotion as it is not easy to squeeze out the lotion with this kind of cap.
