Lovely little journal
I bought this journal for an upcoming trip. I love it. It is small and handy and the paper is lovely. (Not the best I have ever had, but really nice to go out and do some urban sketching on the go)Contrary to a lot of the reviews I have seen my binding has not split…. YET. I did open every page carefully to the point of the journal laying flat, as if I wanted to sketch in it. I did notice that in between the signatures they did glue the pages together right at the spine. That might not be the best way to go about this. It might be a weak point in the binding tbh. We will see. As of now the pages did separate and lay flat and the spine is not broken. Will report back once I painted on the last and first page of the second and third signature respectively.I would recommend to slowly, and carefully open all pages before you start using the book. And be prepared for the little glued strips in between the signatures. It is just about 1/4 inch at the very center between the pages. They will be fluffier than the rest of the page and may soak up the water differently when you do paint on it.I did paint a packing list on the first two pages. The ink and watercour worked well on the pages. Although there wasn’t a lot of wash going on. Just some spots of paint.Will add more photos/edit the review after I get back from my trip at the beginning of July.

This little Mifuner Watercolor Sketchbook is Awesome!
This little sketchbook is amazing. It paints just like my professional 100% cotton Paul Reubens paper the description above does not say if itâs cotton but it paints great. I was able to get good textures, bright colors, and it lifted well. Thereâs 20 pages so you could have 20 full-size paintings or you could have 40 little paintings itâs awesome. Thereâs a cool little pocket in the back and the band is secured well and so does the paint brush band holder on the side which is great. It has a very soft cotton linen cover. I will be giving my extra one to my friend for her birthday because itâs so great. Iâm gonna go back and buy the bigger sizes now that I know this paper is awesome. $6???!!! Canât beat that!

The quality of the paper is decent, good to practice I suppose. I have enjoyed how small it is so I can paint in small sessions and feel like Iâve done something. I think it would be great for travel! Pretty appearance, easy to use, doesnât seem to bleed. I would probably buy it on sale again.

Nice travel sketchbook
This little travel size watercolor notebook is really nice. Havenât painted in it yet, but the pages lie flat and the paper appears to be good quality. Thick and good tooth. The cover design is nice. Something other than black. Having the elastic to keep the book closed is handy. I ordered a second notebook because this first one is so nice.

Great little book
I took a course in acrylics, and this is the size the teacher recommended. At 5″x5″, it’s a good size when experimenting with new shapes in a new medium. It’s the same weight (140lb/ 300gsm) as the most-used watercolor paper, so it stands up to all but the wettest painting. It also accommodates felt pens, and acrylic paint pens. It’s a little rougher texture for graphite or colored pencils, but even then, the appearance will be a nice variation.

Bought this as a gift for someone that I was sitting together a watercolor gift set for. Judging on the reviews the paperweight is perfect and the blending is easy. The sale that was going on when I bought it was a steal. She did like the design of the watercolor sketchbook and I’ll give updates on how it hold up.

Still one of my favorite sketchbooks
I’ve used this brand now a few times. It’s cheap and small but very mighty. I absolutely love the way it takes watercolor. You can see the granulation in every page. I’ve used gouache, watercolor and pen on one painting and it looks fabulous. Will purchase again and again and again! I just wish it had more pages.
