So this is a very nice luxury item that I think is worth planning into a new home. The ability to hardwire one of the feet into power is fantastic compared to an ugly draping cord. The unit itself is of medium quality. It doesn’t feel heavy, which probably helps the inner heating wires to transfer heat more efficiently. I don’t foresee anything breaking since it’s a towel bar and not a ladder. The heating settings worked fine and I plugged it into my amp reader and found that it uses about 136-142 watts of power, regardless of the temp you set it to. Once it reaches 100, 110, 120, 130 or 140 degrees F. it will shut off. You can set it to run, or use the timer for an hour, all of the way up to 8. I just set it to an hour since it’s possible we’ll forget, not to mention that it will help dry the towel out when we are done with it. If it ran at 100% power for an hour per day (so at 140 degrees), based on $0.12 per kwh, then this will use about 51 kwh in a year, so $6.14. Less than $0.02 per day is totally worth it for more hygienic and cozy towels. All in all I’m pleased with it and it seems to perform well and turns off when it should. I wouldn’t be concerned about anything catching on fire or electrocuting you (as long as you aren’t splashing the electrical box it’s plugged into).
