Will work great for my wedding. It’s the exact amount I need and cheaper than anywhere else that want $30 or $40 for less than 12. They’re a little more yellow in person but it’ll be okay. They’re easy to use and brighter than I expected. Kinda hard to get the battery tab off though.

Iâve been picky about flameless candles. The only ones Iâve liked have been from that Swedish furniture store, because the âflameâ isnât visible. So many of them have the flame sitting above the top of the âwax,â it doesnât look remotely real.These, like the Swedish ones, have the flame sitting within the wax, giving it a more realistic look. These are superior to the Swedish ones for two reasons, however: the battery compartment is super easy to open and close, and the remote control keeps them from just eating through batteries. The remote control is pretty greatâ lots of options, although I pretty much just have them on highest brightness and candle all the time. Iâve used the timer but mostly have turned them off before time is up. I like that, when you use the remote, they blink briefly to tell you that they got the signal.I docked a star because theyâre really oddly narrow. This brand also sells a 3â diameter version, which I didnât realize when I bought these and wish Iâd gotten those instead. Next time.All in all Iâm very happy. My living room is warm and cozily lit with these in the mix.

Very nice subtle flicker effect
There are four types of flickering candles1. Blinky flickering usually hard plastic candles too2. Softer and more variable flickering but a single uniform “flame” source. For these the best ones have the flame led recessed and not visible from the side. Often have an outer wax texture3. Soft variable flickering with a wick where the light seems to move inside the wick. These often have the wick partly visible from the side.4. Moving wicksThese are also how the prices scale too but the biggest jump happens between 2 and 3.The lowest (1) is not really aesthetically pleasing to directly observe but has some generic ambiance if not directly observed.The second which this candle is very satisfying. If you put two of these candles near each other their uncorrelated flickering also gives the illusion that the flames are moving because the shadows they cast on the wall seem to move. One candle alone does not produce that effectBecause these are inexpensive you can afford to buy many of them and that produces a really neat effect when a room is filled with candles rather than just a token candle or two.The flames do not move though so these are best viewed from the side to avoid breaking the illusion .I put mine up on shelves and let them cast their flickering shadows in interesting objects on those shelves.The wax is nice too. Even though it’s very similar to the plastic ones somehow your eye can tell. I think it’s diffusive depth of light scattering the thick translucent wax provides. The wax has a variable sheen too so neither entirely glossy nor matte whereas the plastic is much more all the sameThese are a fantastic value and very satisfying

They are nice, with room for improvement
I turned on each candle a few seconds apart so they don’t flicker in unison. If you use the remote,they flicker exactly the same and the flame doesn’t look nice/realistic. Turning them on with the remote makes them flicker in unison. You can use the remote on each candle separately – it’s not all-on or all-off, proximity matters. I think a real flame is brighter, but they are bright, I’m totally satisfied with the brightness.When the flickers are staggered, they look entirely realistic, and I’m so glad to be able to enjoy candles that don’t warm up the room or are a safety hazard to leave unattended. Some friends who visited thought they were real and had to touch them to believe they weren’t. The remote is more handy than I thought, turning them off all at once from the sofa or adjusting brightness is nice.I left them on, no timer, on flicker, dollar-store batteries, and they lasted about 84 hours. 🙁 I was hoping they would last a lot longer. I’ll get some good batteries and hope it improves a lot.They are definitely wax on the outside, but they are incredibly yellow-ish – the photos are accurate. I know yellow-ish is not out of character for ‘white’ candles, but it’s pretty prominent. Being waxy will allow for standard candle embellishments, a little bling or stripes or something.I’ll likely buy more, but I find the timer useless since they flicker in unison, but I’m going to experiment and see if the timer can be turned on in the bathroom, but not in the living room – proximity. I love the idea of having a bathroom candle as a constant, instead of just a special occasion.Great price, and I’m fairly certain the $39 set is exactly the same as the $19 set, get this set!
